Monterey Fireside Lodge

Absolutely horrible! Don’t recommend this place at all… Dirty sheets, dirty nasty carpet, dirty everything…

It's just a family operated motel, so no service or even vending machines. But it's cheap and location isn't bad. Staff is kind and helpful. My room was ok, didn't had any of the problems reported in other posts here.

There are two types of rooms: the cheap ones in the same building as the office that have renters (1 star), and the big clean suites that are in the building opposite of the office (5 star). First night we stayed in the dated cheap room, but it smelled, so Mrs Shin was nice and we upgraded to the suite and we enjoyed the rest of ourour vacation a lot more!

Staff is nice, BUT this place needs shut down. Health hazzard. Homeless man had his whole car scattered in parking slot, eviction notices on windows. The smell was putrid. Had to go back and forth with lady for a refund. Not safe health wise or personal. Do not stay here. Thankful the man refunded me my $250.00 and was able to find a safer, cleaner area for my family. Seems like they allow drug addicts to run rampid. Bug carcasses in the bed as well.

Really nice owners but they prefer to have wackos and weirdos live there that the state pays for. Non working fireplaces in all of the over priced, dated units. Not a hotel or motel and not apartments.

Best relaxing and pleasant peace I've had in a long time, times, time & a 1/2, , end time, and extended time, to grace, I can remember. I had a chance to visit a few days last MONTH, and found it as I remembered. Even made an ole friendship new. Thx, to my friend and her son. Thumbs up to them too as they both gave me thumbs up carrying my new car away. Till next time.

The cozy and quiet was exactly what I needed after a long day visiting someone at the hospital. Flexible rates with a wonderful family owned and operated customer service atmosphere. Like you are welcome and appreciated! The heater was old and dusty but worked well. A new paint job would definitely help too. I will definitely return here.

You want a HOME AWAY FROM HOME.
FIRST check room before accepting, not all rooms have that homey feeling. But its quiet.
Ask if you burn fireplace.

Best staff ever, great location and pet friendly!
Walk to Del Monte Beach and Lake Estero.
Owners make sure you're taken care of but never bother you.
Extras provided and rooms have a personal touch that you can't find just anywhere. We were treated like family and will go back soon again. Best rates, owners have weekly and monthly extended stay options. They are fully booked most of the time, so we were lucky to get a room and our stay was amazing.

They are friendly, and local owned.
Owners live on property.
