Monterey History & Art at Stanton Center reviews
17This museum is amazing if you love Salvador Dali. I loved learning about his life and how it effected his art.
Dali is my favorite and I saw an exhibit of his work at this place from the early 70's that I have not seen before. Great place for the Dali fan and for inspiring artists.
If you love Dali, you'll probably find this interesting and worth an hour or two. If you only like his 'Greatest Hits' you'll probably struggle to find this particular collection engaging. Dali was prolific and he also cranked out a lot of work that was.harder to appreciate than the iconic stuff.
An astonishingly large collection of Dali's work, including complete sets of several series and lots of sculpture. Thoughtful, informative and attractive presentation filling two floors that shows Dali's astonishingly diverse creations, from simple drawings to elaborate sculpture and more. Don't rush, there's a lot here.
This is my first time in Monterey, CA.and as soon as I saw that this exhibit existed, I knew that I had to go.
We spent 2+ hours here. In complete amazement, wanderlust & more. I was blown away at how well curated this whole exhibit is. Everything was beautifully matted/framed, descriptive wall labels, and felt like a private viewing.
I would highly recommend any art fans, especially those of Dali to come out & see this exhibit before it’s gone! Also, to support any of the exhibits at this awesome location.
10/10
Beautiful museum for a reasonable price. The paintings and creations by Dali were absolutely stunning
Not many original pieces, but those that are there are amazing. Loved the sculptures and the flow of the exhibit. A nice way to spend an hour or so traveling into an artists vision.
Awesome experience! The front desk was super kind and friendly. I was beyond stoked to find this little gem in Monterey! I'm huge fan of the artist's work and was more than impressed on the size of the museum as well as what pieces it hard to offer in the galleria.
Saw David Goldrake, the magian from Luxembourg. Super great show! He is an excellent performer.
A jam-packed exhibition of Dali's work, plus a small side gallery upstairs showcasing local artists that rotates quarterly.
Great works by the master, not very busy so a good place to take your time and enjoy the Arts. Parking is meter parking. About $20 for an adult regular ticket. Overall a great visit for Art lovers!
Wonderful and interactive. We had to thoroughly look at everything to understand it a little better. While there were not alot of big pieces the things we did see left us curious. Very friendly staff. Well worth the price. Highly recommended if you've never been. One star drop due to the closed exhibit area.
Stopped by Monterey for a couple of nights and found this gem of an art exhibition. If you are a Dali fan you will love this and will need to spend 2 or 3 hours. Otherwise a casual hour will suffice. Huge amount of material carefully hung in their groups. Very good value.
Great museum, bigger than it looks. Located In a tourist spot, you can walk in the fisherman's wharf right after and get some food and enjoy the view of the ocean. Parking is cheap $3 for about 2hrs
A good place to stop for a quick walk through. The collection has an incredible number of pieces with local Monterey history.
Very cool to see so much Dali art in one place. I wish they had more photos of him though.
Dali was a strange dude. Very strange, which leads to unique art and sculptures. Worth a little time.
