Monterey Marriott

Nice location, about 25 minutes walk to the aquarium. We saw many dogs including big size as the hotel is pet friendly now. We have the status of Gold Elite with the Marriott but did not get an upgrade to our room. They don't offer housekeeping each day unless you ask. Toiletries were minimal. We had to ask for towels.

Great service, friendly and quite responsive when we haf a little problem with our room. I will definitely be back!

Aside from the customer service (abysmal), the hotel is about standard to the Marriott brand, nothing exceptional.

Fast checkin but perception was that I should be grateful they allowed me to stay on their property.
I arrived at 1130pm and was told "Our valet is closed, but leave the keys in it and they'll get it at 630am".
When I asked about the breakfast "Oh it's included. Just tell them your name and I promise it's all taken care of. "

The entire experience significantly contrasts the flow of all other Marriott properties, which i was told is because "they're all failing protocol. "

I would stay again, but would not be my first or third selection.

Great service all around. Valet was great, room was clean & well stoked, shower was epic, beds were comfy & it's right next to the wharf & lots of great food.

Nice staff, great pool/spa, close to downtown and great food. Walking distance to park, shopping and harbor. Unique stay with the remodeled rooms

This place was awesome! All the staff was friendly, kind and helpful. The GM genuinely cared that every guest had a good experience. He went above & beyond and we were so impressed. The rooms were spacious & beautiful. Location was spot on - close to restaurants and very walkable area, away from the hustle and bustle of Cannary Row. Would recommend to everyone & we’ll definitely be back!

Everything was typical with one huge exception.we could not sleep due to the design of our room.the back wall that the bed was up against was so flimsy that every time someone remotely close to our room opened or closed a door it sounded like someone was trying to kick the wall in.the lamp rattled and the entire wall shook violently.it was so bad we called security because we though people might be fighting.only after I stood outside the room at midnight to observe what was happening did I discover the cause.other than that the staff is friendly and corteous.but we slept very little as people where in and out of their rooms all night.beware of room 242.they were fully booked so moving was not an option.wifi was terribly slow too. I measured 3mbps download and less than 1 mbps upload.no sleep defaults an otherwise desirable hotel to 1 star.it's kind of the main point.

Very nice motel. Nice rooms, beautiful views, and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet with made to order omelets was great. Located very close to the wharf and within walking distance of Cannery Row.

I come once a year on business and it's lovely. Close to the beach and the wharf, and all the good things Monterey has to offer, like clam chowder! There are a few areas where they are obviously trying to save money, like room service - where you have to go down and pick it up or pay a $5 fee for delivery. But the hotel is clean, the service is friendly, and it's a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay. No complaints, definitely recommended.

I stayed at the Monterey Marriott during an education conference. The room was well appointed and the bathroom in particular was lovely, marble and glass in the shower area.

Great experience from the food to the cleanliness of the facilities. What made my experience memorable was Richard who greeted guests in the lobby. He should be the standard for hotel staff across all Marriott's. His engaging smile and personal interactions made an otherwise long couple days for me a bit lighter. I will stay here again if I'm in the area and I hope either he or someone he trains is there to greet me.

Nice hotel in downtown Monterey. Full service and restaurant, bar and conference faculties. Great conference room with view on top floor.

The service was amazing, from check in to check out our room was superb. I highly recommend staying here for future visits.

Every staff members I ran into are extremely nice. Bellmen open the door for us and immediately went to help someone else before we can possibly tip them, front desk is helpful and resourceful. They made my trip so nice that I forgot to pay attention to how old the hotel was or any hardware issues.

Such a great hotel! Everyone is so willing to help in anyway they can. And even gave us umbrellas to borrow in the rain storm. And the rooms are very big and bed are great! Awesome view of the beach and walking distance to the shops and restaurants.

Good service. Although smoke alarm is too sensitive, it goes "off" if you leave the bathroom door open while showering.
