Restaurant Moody Rooster reviews
17Absolutely amazing experience here. The service was perfect thanks to Tiffany. Their gnocchi dish is unrivaled. Drinks are also great. Thank you so much, can't wait to come back!
The rooster has a mood and it’s rude. Service was poor and had an attitude. The food was good and full of flavor! The bread for the toast was tough to cut even with a bread knife. The restaurant felt crowded with tables so close to one another. I wouldn’t recommend going since there are several restaurants with good and great service.
Incredible! Service was on point, friendly and informative. Amazing cocktails and food was outstanding! The burrata salad was to die for. My husband had the gnocchi and gave me a bite, incredible! I had the grilled Spanish Octopus definitely the best Octopus I've ever had hands down!
Finished with a 20yr port, malted milk and homemade chocolate chip cookies as well as cantaloupe sorbe. An award winning dinner compliments to the chef.
I honestly don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. The food Is decorative without substance and highly overpriced for what you get. 1/3 of us liked our dinner and that was the chicken dish. The prawns were nothing special and a flat iron steak was very salty. The bacon wrapped figs were not very good and neither were the green beans. The service was mediocre. It wasn’t the server's fault, they didn’t have enough servers. If presentation is important to you, you might like the place,
but if you’re looking for substance, you won’t like it.
Outstanding on every level! We typically endure the drive to DTLA, Hollywood, Venice, etc.in pursuit of such elevated cuisine.so happy that this is only 20 minutes away w/abundant free parking to boot! Smoked Trout Toast alone would bring us back, but the Crispy Gnocchi, Prawns (huge!), Fromaggi, Salumi Flatbread, and Harissa Carrots (never imagined something as basic as a carrot being so intensely great!) were all stellar. Couldn't decide on 1 dessert to share so 4 of us ordered Carrot Cake (with Passion Fruit - best we've ever had) and Budino. Staff was a well-oiled machine (even the owner came by our table - super nice), and our server (Jonathan) was THE BEST! Already checking the calendar to book the next visit!
I highly recommend calling for a reservation. Some of the most exquisite foods presented. Seasonal plates and exquisite cuisine. Service was exceptional. Even though there’s only a two hour limit per table. Due to the overwhelming popularity in demand of this establishment, reservations are highly recommended and the only way to really enjoy this experience.
This is our "go to" place for special occasions. They satisfy all of our foodie needs. Lots of small plates that are perfect for sharing. Amazing vegetables, salads, fresh sourdough, and flatbreads to start. Plus, great cocktails and wine. Hubby and friends love the Old Fashioned. Recently went with a party of 4 and split the prawns, meatballs, flat iron steak with duck fat potatoes and a pork tomahawk. OMG! Then we had dessert and the Wine & Soul Port. Delicious. Often I get the roasted half of chicken. The best part is they source food from local organic farmers. All the waiters are friendly and helpful. They never rush you to turn the table.
First time here. Friend and I decided to sample and share a few different things. Everything was delicious, and there's a lot more to still try. Server was very friendly and offered suggestions from his personal favorites to popular dishes, and what we had had.
Went to lunch with a friend who suggested that we eat at The Moody Rooster - Great idea. The food was really unique and very tasty, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to go back for something different (so many things to try).
Service is amazing - ask for Johnathan, he is awesome. Grilled octopus is one of the best I've ever had. Meatballs are also pretty much the best ever. Half chicken is really juicy and tastes great. Highly recommended.
Polite people. Good drinks. Terrible food. My server was attentive and polite. I got the bacon wrapped figs which were overcooked and bloated and short on flavor. I then got the pate, the mousse had a lovely texture, but it was so loaded with salt, that I had to choke it down. I ate a good bit of it, because I was hungry and not interested in trying yet another dish and being disappointed. When the server and 2 people who seemed like managers each on their own asked me how I liked the food, I told them exactly what I've written here, but instead of doing the right thing and refunding me at least a portion of the bill, or offering me an opportunity to order an alternative dish, they simply said, "we will give your feedback to the chef. " This, to me, is a terrible response, because they were obviously not concerned at all with taking any action whatsoever to make it right, and I paid $90 plus tip, for two inedible appetizers, and two drinkable drinks. So basically, $60 for a couple of figs and disgustingly salty pate. I will not be back, and unless you're just going there for drinks, I suggest you avoid this spot.
Only worth it if you have a reservation… even if the place is wide open, walking in and expecting to sit down for a meal is not possible which is unfortunate.
This was my first time. And it was really good! I don't recall our girl's name who took care of us, but she was awesome, and so were the other servers from overhearing their tones. Even the bus staff was great.will be back to try more.
Steak/potatoes was great.the trout toast, awesome (my first time).
Gnocchi was really good, but the acid of the sauce needed to be balanced better - IMO.
The Moody Rooster is one of Westlake Village's top eateries. From the delicious and creative dishes that are inspired from seasonal ingredients, to the attentive and thoughtful service from the hostesses, servers and bartenders. Every time I visit there is always something new and exciting to try. Each aspect of this restaurant is firing on all cylinders. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation now!
This place is pricey but it's worth it. The food is really amazing, fresh and savory and the staff was great. We were able to sit outside and the wait staff was really accommodating.
Service was the best I have ever received. While the majority of the restaurant was full, the employees were constantly attentive yet not intrusive during our meal.
The meal itself was exquisite! Everyone at pir table ordered something different to allow the widest variety of culinary experiences and no one was disappointed. From appetizers to desserts, every forkful or spoonful of food was worth the price!
Super great! Food was amazing, small place and very busy. We sat on the patio, it was very nice, they had great shades for when the sun came down. The only thing I regret is, I did not take a picture of the dessert, which was the homemade chocolate chip cookies and warm, malted milk for dipping. This was amazing!
