Morning Glory reviews
21This restaurant has 2 Michelin stars. The atmosphere is very cool, different and fun. The food was delicious, you must try the Pancakes soufflé, the potatoes and the Smoked salmon Benedict. The hot chocolate was delicious too! The pork belly rice was good but nothing special.
Such a great experience we had at Morning Glory! Our server “Lucky” was awesome, he managed brunch with ease and a good sense of service, he answered all the questions we had and advised us well. That was really helpful and nice, thanks! The location is gorgeous and awesome. The lobster benny was good, I wish I could had even more hollandaise ;) the pancake platter delicious The cappuccino delightfully presented in a gorgeous porcelain cup, lovely! The architecture amazing with so many different designs and the colours used are representing a melting pot which is uncommon and vivid, a nice experiment. I recommend strongly everyone who wants to spend a nice lunch or brunch with delicious food in a great location and area ;) Only one thing, the musique was loud, but hey guys I’m being polished right now, I just have a lot of expectations but I’m sensitive of the noise ;) so it is just my concern:) thank you a lot for the nice moment ;)
We went here as a group. We wanted almost 45 minutes after giving our name to sit. It looks always busy as it's a michelin recommend. We ordered lobster omlette, Turkish eggs, French toast, and condensed milk latte. Everything tastes good. Service and ambiance were good. There are many other restaurants around with a lot of open places to chill. (I really liked their bathroom too)
Ecclectic, diverse and entertaining is how I would describe Morning Glory. There is nothing boring about the atmosphere,
from the decor to the servers and open area kitchen, this restaurant oozes San Diego eccentric, and I love it. Prepare to be amused by unique servers and unconventional takes on typical brunch menu items. Be sure to indulge in the souffle pancakes and thick cut bacon. And, don't skip on a trip to the restroom.trust me, it's intriguing.
Arrived at 7: 45, joined a mini queue, and once the doors swung open, we were whisked to our seats in a heartbeat. Delightfully dove into a feast—birria and hash browns stole the show, breakfast carbonara rocked, but the fried rice missed its crispiness mark, maybe a little too strolled than wok'd. Soufflé pancakes danced on our taste buds, not exactly traditional but a delightful diversion. Quick service, lively vibes, and cocktails that added an extra dash of fun. A solid mealtime adventure!
This is the type of place I would go to once to experience and say I have been there. The food is very tasty but you will leave hungry. The atmosphere is unique and fun. The service staff was great. They had a few gluten free options.
The eye sees all! Hey, this is a cool place in downtown San Diego and the food is fantastic. Great service, yummy food!
It’s great if you want to wait an hour and a half to take a picture of mediocre eggs and a bathroom
There was a 45 minute wait for this place. While the service was good I think the food is completely overrated. The soufflé pancake was not as fluffy as I previously had.
We waited in line just to add our name to the waitlist but if you have time and are willing to wait it is worth it for the experience! The food was excellent! I especially loved the khachapuri Ordering our food and beverages was a tad slow with how busy they were so plan to be there for a while.
If you have the time to put your name down and wait up to 3 hours, easy when the farmers market is there, I'd say it's worth it. Second time visiting and still impressed with the food and atmosphere
Half an hour in line to sign up and to be told that you have to wait another hour and a half for your table. It's not worth it
The pancakes are spectacular. The vibe of the place is very cool, super recommended. 10/10
I don't think I'll ever come again. This is the first bad review I've ever written, so that should say something.
Our server was very unprofessional, which set the tone for our dining experience, and it didn't get better from there. Our server neverintroduced herself, dropped off our waters and menus without a word, and our only interaction was her asking us for our order, and she never came back to check on us once and just ignored and walked away when we were going to ask for another order. The main issue was the attitude in which she did it. She seemed like she was doing us a favor by being there for us, with terrible stares and attitude. I noticed this not only for our table but also in her section with the other tables as well, which I felt awkward for seeing her interact with them.
What was most unprofessional was that at one point, she went and sat with her friends that were there on another table and we can see her giggling and smiling with them, all while another one of her tables was signaling the food runners or anyone nearby for assistance. This was for about 15 minutes. Her attitude and demeanor changing completely once she had to do her job was extremely noticeable after leaving her friends' table.
We had to wave down one of the food runners for assistance and finally our check because we just wanted to finish our meal and go. Everything was just so rushed, and we didn't feel welcomed at all.
I'm very understanding when it comes to customer service and hospitality, and I know it can be a stressful job at times, but this just wasn't acceptable. I've been to places just as busy without ever having even close to a terrible experience as this.
The fried rice was great, but the Turkish eggs were completely the opposite, not good at all. The atmosphere was ok, with descent music. We waited an hour to get a table because there was no way to reserve online. The seating arrangement is a little off too, youre lucky if you get a table and not a bar seating. All in all, for the hype that people gave this place and the food, I would give it a 4 out of 10 just because the food runner was kind to us.
I didn't get the main servers' name because she never introduced herself, but our receipt says Yeuhenii P, the only young black lady with braids on January 5th. Waiting an hour for this was definitely not worth it. I hope your experience is better if you choose to dine here. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone in the future.
Had the turkish eggs for breakfast. Honey latte. And the speciality latte which was Peppermint (would not recommend it)
The food was extraordinary, service could improve, decor is beautiful, the vibe is amazing. I recommend this place % drinks were good too.
They don’t let you in if you have a bottle of water with you, they say you have to throw it away.
The structure of the whole wait in the line to get your names in the list is ridiculous. Ppl need to wait in line for 30mins to get your name in the list then another long time to wait until you name is up. Why can’t they just put a waitlist downstairs so ppl can just sign up? This is very poor management and in
thoughtful and disrespectful of ppls time!
Really wanted to like this spot. It is on the Michelin guide. It’s ok food, just kinda cold food that I expected to be hot. Excellent everything else.
Food was overpriced for the quality. Wife didn’t even want to finish her food. Coffee was pretty bad.
