It was a nice camp ground with a golf course connected. The campground was big you would have plenty of room around you, not squished like other campgrounds. They also have a large group picnic area. Oh and there are wild turkeys on the golf course!

Great beach not to many people. It's a short walk down to the beach. I had a hard time coming up the sandy hill, but I knew this coming down going up would be hard.

We drove down to Morro Bay to do a little bit of hiking and eat at Taco Temple. We went to Morro Bay State Park and did the Black Hill Trail. It starts at the camp ground and goes up to the peak. It makes for a decent little walk with sand, dirt and rocks trails in it.

Morro Bay State Park is a great campground to bring the family. Chirping birds, laughter, giant trees, smokey grilles. Step back in time when family was outdoors enjoying simplicity.

This state park located in Morro Bay is a real gem. It's about 2 1/2 miles from the downtown Morro Bay area with plenty of restaurants and shopping. They have a shuttle bus in the summer on weekends and you can ride it for only $1 each way. The shopping center is a fairly long walk, take the shuttle or drive there. Parking is widely available in the shopping area.

The park is a very nice campground, spots are not too close and it's very quiet at night after hours. They have fairly clean restroom facilities (for a campground). Don't expect it to be like a Hilton Hotel.
You have to use tokens for the showers, and they sell them in the park. This park doesn't use quarters. The only thing you need to know is that it takes a while for the showers to get hot water.and, it's not consistent. My recommendation is to take a shower during the day when it's not too cold.

They have 30 sites with electric power and water if you have an RV. If not, it's dry camping. And, the prices are $50 with power and $35 without power.

There's a very nice walk to the estuary and a restaurant close by near the Marina. The Marina restaurant is fine, but, there's many other choices in the village.

Make reservations 6 months in advance.

Finally, be sure to take some warm clothes and sweatshirts with you. It gets much colder than you might expect in the summer. I'm told that October and November are actually warmer in Morro Bay, but, I have not experienced that yet.

Driving there is easy and it's not that far away from Cambria and Hearst Castle.worth a day trip to both locations. And, check out Harmony, CA. If you blink, you'll miss it, but, it was a delightful stop and glad we did.

Entirely worth the drive! Great views of the ocean side. We drove from Walnut Creek to Morro Bay and spent two nights at an inn in Los Osos. Had a great time kayaking in Morro Bay using kayaks from "a kayak shack". Still miss this town!

This is a great area for hiking, both down to the beach or to the cave for the views. You have to watch your step but it is very nice.

Very beautiful nice trail to explore beach just down the street. There is a bird reserve for the nesting birds. I hope to make it back to spend more time.

We stayed the night at the campground and it was beautiful. The whole time we were there it was quite and we had perfect weather. It's within walking distance to the golf course, cafe, museum, and dock. Its a perfect place to stay if you want to kayak in Morro Bay. The bathroom and showers were pretty typical for a state campground. We would definitely recommend and we plan on coming back.

Stayed in the hiker/biker campsite while bike touring coast. Not the best but certainly not the worst although fees were twice the price of every other state park - and no senior discount for the h/b site!

Gorgeous place, in any weather. Highly recommend a visit to this area. Peaceful and easier access than other parts of central coast.

Highly recommend hiking up to the short and moderately steeped Black Hill in this park to get the best view of Morro Rock and city of Morro Bay.

Went camping here in the spring time at the group sites. Really nice/clean facilities and fire pit. Bring your own soap for the bathrooms. It's right next to a golf course, natural history museum, and the marina. Not very far from Morro Bay stacks and downtown area. Would go again!

Clean and in a great location. There is a natural history museum within walking distance. The Morro Rock site is within a ten minute drive.

My husband and I car camped a night at the campground for a weekend getaway and absolutely loved it! Campsites are wide and spacious with lots of lovely views. The walking path at the park is huge! Great place to stay with families.
