Motel 6 Ventura, CA - Downtown reviews
19For a bare basics hotel, it's great. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and strong! Easy walk to downtown and the beach!
The location of this motel is between two very busy roads with traffic noise all night long. There was sketchy people hanging around the motel constantly. There was partying going on until 2 am. I would not stay here again.
Original room was roach infested and had a liquid on the floor. Management immediately suggested moving me to another room. The hotel is walking distance (three blocks; 0.2 miles) from the Amtrak Station.
The freeway close location meant that freeway noise could be heard constantly. You don't get used to it, you just put up with it. Better noise proofing on windows and doors would improve the experience, especially in rooms that have clear line of sight (and hence direct sound impact) to the freeway. I had Noise Canceling earbuds, they worked great at elmiinating he freeway noise.
Located in a safe area. Eateries nearby. Beach within walking distance if you’re a strong walker. Otherwise quick drive to San Buenaventura State Park (Day use only). Exterior bad, however room interior very nice. King bed very comfortable and with 4 pillows. ADA height toilet. Stall shower with new door, not a shower curtain. Nice size TV. Nice Motel 6.not the Marriott, but nice Motel 6.
I have to say for a Motel 6 this place was pretty good. It was mostly clean, and I felt safe. All staff really friendly. Would stay at again.
Clean, comfortable beds. TV worked great and had channels I wanted to watch. Was close to the Community Hospital that I had come down to visit.
The floor in the first room could have used a better clean (the bottom of my socks were FILTHY!)
Second room had too much water flow at sink which sprayed everywhere.
Both sinks drained slowly, which I mentioned to front office.
Front office folks were wonderful!
Very nice and friendly. Room as good too. GREAT location, nice short walk to downtown. Good shops down there
Manager was nice and helpful. No problems there. But our room smelled like they overdid the cleaning agents. And the TV. What's up with Motel 6s and their TVs having some sort of issue or another? Mind you this was the 2nd Motel 6 within 3 weeks that we checked into because I believe in a 2nd chance. But nope. The remote's buttons in this room didn't function well and honestly too tired to even want to deal with it, as late as it was. The beds were so squeaky and noisy. And then there's the location. You can literally hear the 101 freeway next door and it's traffic speeding by, right outside all late night/early morning long. I can't see myself checking into a Motel 6 ever again. But as they say, you get what you pay for.
The location and value was great. The only thing I would say bad is they need to lock the ice machine up somewhere where you can only access by a room key to keep it from attracting people who dont stay there.
For a motel 6, five stars. Nice location, clean, refrigerator, tv, working everything, good water pressure. I would definitely stay again.
Clean, near the pier and Main Street. Homeless can be a challenge at times. Not bad when in need for a place to stay.
Got here late at night. The front staff were very friendly. The room was nice and modern and everything was clean upon check in.
I was in room 212, hard to sleep excessive freeway noise and mattresses felt like sleeping on straw. Room was clean, shower worked good. Price was too expensive. Overall would not rent a room again at that motel
If staying in Downtown Ventura, this place is perfect and close to everything and everywhere we wanted to go, including the pier and beach. Highly recommend.
Stayed in Lots of Motel 6's Over the Years, But This One is the Best.

Pleasantly professional service for a budget price. The hotel pays attention to little details that often gets overlooked. For example, the three pillows on each queen bed were of different softness for wider selection. I enjoyed my short stay of one night. Unfortunate during the Pandemic that we didn't have any breakfast offered of any sort (including coffee), but we all can understand the situation.
My favorite motel 6. Clean as could be! The staff beyond friendly! My favorite motel 6 I plan on staying there again in the near future.
The female that checked me in was so professional and was so friendly and very welcoming. I had a issue with my bank card and she talked me into a calmness.
Great location. Clean. Comfortable. FUR BABY FRIENDLY. My puppy Serenity loved it. Great stay and the BEST MANAGER SYLVIA! Friendly and accomodating. I'll be back for sure!
