MotoJava, San Francisco CA

I emailed them about a TU250X which is not emissions compliant in California and am aware there are requirements (at least 2 years old and have 7500 miles on it) with other exceptions such as having been registered already by someone who moved here with the bike and registered it. I just wanted to know how this was done to verify legitimacy, however it seems I had offended the person I emailed as they seemed to push me off saying the bike wasn't for me and suggested that I should trust them because of their 22 year run. First off I would like to apologize as I meant no offense, however I would like the right to know the history of a used bike before attempting to buy it. That said, I would have given 1 star but the person, despite seeming fairly frustrated and didn't want to sell me the bike, still turned me away fairly calmly. It was still quite suspicious and slightly rude but I'm more than happy to hear them out and improve the rating if at some later point this is explained and I have a good experience buying a bike, given that they still would be willing to work with me after this review. Again I don't have anything against them. I just want to know what I'm buying.

My experience was quite unpleasant. "Moto Mike" as he calls himself was rude and unhelpful. He chose to be condescending when asked the simple question if the compression was checked on a used motorcycle. What a loser. I have cash, and yet he refused to communicate like a professional and lost a sale. When asked if he was the store owner he was still rude. I'll be taking my cash elsewhere and buying from someone that's respectable.

Motojava, and Mike in particular, are the absolute best! I’m a driving enthusiast, but I came into Motojava not knowing a lot about bikes. Mike was super knowledgeable, and really took the time to figure out what bike would suite my needs and skill level. He helped me pick out a Honda CB500F that was perfect for me, and had a lot of great tips on how to feel comfortable on the bike.

Mike’s awesomeness didn’t stop after I had purchased my bike. After a little while, it became apparent that the bike needed a new chain. Mike drove all the way from San Francisco to the far East Bay. He picked up my bike, and loaned me another CB500F to ride in the meantime. A couple days later, he drove back out to the East Bay; he dropped off my bike with a brand new chain and picked up the loaner. My bike is running perfectly now, and he did all of this free of charge.

I cannot recommend Motojava strongly enough. This is an honest shop selling great bikes at very fair prices.

This is an honest and no-bs place to find a good bike for you. They will propose bikes for your needs, and if they don’t have one that’s appropriate, they will even send you elsewhere! I have also serviced my bike here with the same top results. I really trust this shop and I always have good interactions there.

Definitely recommend Mike at MotoJava. Very knowledgeable staff and great deals. Sold my bike to them on the spot just took approximately 30 minutes or less. Very professional!

Bought my first bike here - 2018 Honda Rebel 300! Looked brand new even though it wasn't. MotoMike was really helpful, delivered the bike to me in San Jose because I wasn't feeling too confident riding on 101, and gave some good tips and advice as well. They take care of the registration and documentation as well, so I had to worry about nothing!

Bought a motorcycle from them service and prices very reasonable.some tiny cosmetic damage since it was used but otherwise it was practically new.if you want to buy a used bike this is the place to go.

It's a excellent place to consider a used bike. They throughly go through them for running condition, safety, and cleanliness.

Called to find out what I could do to get my motorcycle appraised and was told that since I went to another dealership, they would just call them and find out their price, so I should just take whatever I get offered there. I was then hung up on. Not giving them a 1 because I never made it TO the shop in the first place, so at least I didn't waste any time before being turned away.

Moto Mike took great care of me. I've since bought a new bike, but I'll always miss riding my first love. Their prices are competive and take a no-BS approach to sales. I can't recommend them enough.

Best, most trustworthy second hand dealer of motorcycles in the city. They’ll take care of you and won’t even sell you something that won’t work for 5,000 miles more without even thinking about it. If it’s for sale there, it’s instantly $1,000 better value than most private sales because it’s been completely looked over by these guys. Best of all, they don’t ever sell you a bike that’s inappropriate for your level.

MotoJava is a fantastic place. I was able to get a very nicely priced SV650 from MotoMike. I wouldn’t hesitate, even for a second, to purchase another ride from them! (Wanna give me some cash so I can get another one? Lol)

Moto Mike and Lucy are the best. They have looked after me and my Triumph many times and I trust them completely! I wouldn't dream of taking my bike anywhere else.

Had a great experience buying a 2016 fz-07 at moto Java earlier this month. I love the bike and it is in impecable mechanical shape. I had seen similar bikes on Craigslist for around the same price, but buying from a mechanic/dealer gives you guarantees and the piece of mind you normally don't get at private party prices, plus they take care of all the dmv paperwork for you. Lucy was cool af and I would highly recommend buying a motorcycle here.

The new owners are great. Really enjoyed purchasing my latest bike from them. Wasn't charged an additional fee to pay for the entire bike with my credit card!

They also took $5 bucks off for the push-up challenge!

Mike was very helpful and informative. He helped me decide on the perfect bike for me, Ninja EX650. The bike was pristine when I bought it. Low mileage, annual service, brand-new tires, etc. His prices are competitive and he seems genuinely interested in serving his customers beyond what you might get at other shops in town. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
