I’ve always been enraptured by the grace and skill of salsa dancing. My partner loves it as well so we decided to take the leap and take classes. We found Movers and Shakers and not only found a great instructor and friend in Danny but also a wonderful Salsa/Bachata family. Having never taken a dance class before if you had told me then that I’m only a year and a half I’d be performing (In Las Vegas no less) I’m only a year and a half in I never would have believed you! Thank you to Danny and the MaS fam for teaching me and building my foundations as a dancer as well as always challenging me to be better. If you are considering taking lessons - this is the place to be! Hope to see you out there soon:)

Details, details, details! Best dance training I’ve ever found.

I’ve taken private and group classes in many places (both in the U. S.and Internationally) - not anywhere did I receive as much detail as I do at Movers and Shakers.

I took private salsa lessons here in Los Angeles with the academy director, Danny, three days per week for a year. Eventually I joined the group bachata classes and salsa classes and the performance team.

That’s when I discovered the “MaS” community as well!

I found essentially all of my Los Angeles friends through Movers and Shakers. What a blessing. The community here is STRONG and full of winners and wonderful, positive, welcoming people.

Thank you SO much for everything you’ve done for me. Words can hardly express how grateful I am.

My girlfriend and I signed up for Salsa classes with Ariela, and absolutely love it. She's an amazing teacher. We're learning so much and are thrilled with our education and our new friends in our salsa classes. Many of us have continued taking classes together, and it's a joy to learn and dance with people who have become good friends.

Just finished the ten week Salsa 102 course, and it was a blast! I’ve taken classes from various places here in LA and in SF, but Movers and Shakers is one of my absolute favorites. The teachers are top notch. Ariela, specifically, was an incredible teacher. She is amazing at explaining, but also is super approachable and fun. She can lead and follow, so it really feels well rounded. Would highly recommend taking her class if possible. Movers and Shakers knows how to assess your learning level and meet you where you are, while also pushing you in a comfortable way to be your best. The community is amazing too. Lots of opportunities to practice with classmates outside of class or get together for social dancing at salsa clubs. If you’re thinking about signing up for a class but are nervous, just take the leap! You won’t regret it.

I have danced at “Movers and Shakers” for more than a year and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into dancing. After COVID, I was trying to back into dancing and came across “M&S”. After one class I was hooked. Danny is a great instructor and classes are a lot of fun. I have progressed through all levels of Bachata and Salsa and eventually joined the performance team. Classes focus a lot on good fundamentals and slowly become more challenging so you keep improving. Environment is very supportive, welcoming and fun. Biggest plus is Danny’s energy. He gives his all to the students. Ariela is also equally great to learn from. I have met a lot cool people and made friends through dancing at this academy. There are social events as well where you can practice with other students from class and improve social dancing.

If you are thinking of dancing or just exploring, “Movers & Shakers” is a great place to join!

I loved taking classes with the MaS family. I have learned fundamentals that improved my dancing and my spinning. I’m now able to do double n triple turns, I learned amazing styling for salsa and bachata. I learned to dance with the MaS family not just a choreography, all the instructors make you feel like your family and take their time to teach you. I now feel confident when I go dancing. Thanks Movers and Shakers for the love and support you have given me through my dance journey

It had been ages since I'd done any partner dancing and was itching to get back out there. I hadn't done any Latin dancing so was a bit overwhelmed, but luckily I discovered Movers and Shakers. What a wonderful thing that was. Unlike many other studios, it is a progression, each week building on the week before. And the instructors are awesome (I've had Marina - funny and delightful. Ariella lights up the room when she gets us going). They are both extremely knowledgeable and patient. Breaking down the steps, building the foundations, and teaching us the flavor that makes Salsa what it is. At first, I was intimidated and frustrated that I couldn't get the steps (the perfectionist in me!). But by the end, we were swinging and stepping and most of all having fun. If you are at all curious, this is definitely a fun, safe place to do it.

Movers and shakers is a really great opportunity for ANYONE to learn how to salsa. Yes that means the self described people with two left feet too - I’ve seen it firsthand!

I’ve taken 101 with Zweli (Z-whey-lee) and 102 with Ariela and both instructors are warm, literal professionals, and fun.

Class is structured in a way that helped beginner and seasoned dancers benefit. As a Latina with some experience (mainly thru social dancing) prior to M&S, the classes are invaluable and have really upgraded my salsa game.

One of the great feats of M&S is that you stick with the same cohort so everyone is learning at the same pace as you are and each class builds on the past.

Dance partners rotate throughout class which makes for a better learning experience - that’s how social dancing is after all.

After each class wraps, students record an instructor recap designed to help us practice and review after class which is super beneficial.

Everyone is kind, supportive, and open - it’s a really lovely welcoming community!

Enrolling with M&S is one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to LA. Showing up is half the battle and it’s absolutely worth it.

Really wonderful, I love my classes with Movers and Shakers. I learn more about the art of salsa dancing, and it also helps me to de-stress. Ariela is a lovely teacher, she spreads her joy and is very detail oriented. They are very punctual and every class helps you to improve. The details are important.

I’ve loved my experience with Movers and Shakers! I was looking for a dance community and was referred to this program by Zweli, one of the awesome instructors here. I love all the instructors here—they have deep knowledge of salsa and bachata fundamentals and are not intimidating. I joined the performance team and that has been one of the best dance experiences ever! Danny is a great coach and really emphasizes fundamentals and technique. He helped me fix some techniques that I learned incorrectly elsewhere. The MaS community is amazing— there are regular social events and I love going out social dancing with the crew. Can’t wait to continue learning, taking more classes, and growing as a dancer!

I've had the best experience with Movers and Shakers, coming off of a few years of not dancing, i finally decided to sign up for classes. It was so nice to not only improve my salsa and bachata skills, but truly end up making friends for life - and now will always have friends to go dancing with. Danny has built a really great culture and is an amazing dancer and instructor. Also, you truly don't understand all the benefits of dancing until you've been doing it for a while.mind, body, soul, stress reliever, and of course, super fun. Highly recommend!

I’m on my third class with Movers And Shakers. And I’ll probably be taking classes with them as long as I have feet.

Ariela, my beginner/intermediate instructor is salsa excellence and brings her knowledge from Cuba!

There’s lots of salsa programs in LA, but there’s no match for the people and community that Danny (the director) has built. I don’t have enough fingers to count the life long friends I’ve made in the program.

If Salsa and Bachata is your dance, this is your chance. Ok I’m done.

So much fun! I did the salsa and bachata classes. You’ll learn a lot of great technique and proper form in the classes. I also did the performance team which boosts your confidence on the dance floor.

The community is amazing! Everyone always has a good time hanging out, social dancing, and going to parties.

Danny K.is not only a gifted instructor, but he is very easy on the eyes! Sometimes it’s hard to focus on his velvet-like voice and not on his amazing body, so it requires a lot of concentration mastery. I joined his salsa and bachata performance team in hopes of finding new friends and a sense of belonging to a community with common interests. Mission accomplished!

Movers and Shakers is the best beginner salsa and bachata school in the Los Angeles area. I started off as a complete beginner and within a few weeks I felt confident enough in my dance moves to hit the social dance scene. Danny is a great instructor and is very fun! You'll have a great chance to mingle and make friends through MaS.

Me and my partner have been taking the Bachata 101 in Movers and Shakers dance academy. So far we've been having a blast! The instructors (Danny and Ariela) are so friendly and trying to make sure everyone was following well during the whole session. We started with learning basic steps, and every week there were different moves and styles to add. We practiced the movements we learned in the previous weeks over and over again, which helped me to build more confidence in dancing as a beginner! I cannot believe it's been already 6 weeks since I joined this dance community and am looking forward to attending more classes. I met really nice people to dance with, and just love the fun and welcoming atmosphere. Hope this review will be helpful for those of you considering taking classes. Highly recommended:)

I am taking the Movers and Shakers "Bachata 101" class and I cannot express how much I look forward to class each week! This is not my first time taking a dance class, but this is by far my best experience - Danny and the other instructors at Movers and Shakers are wonderful dancers and, even more importantly, great teachers. The class environment is super welcoming and you have access to a built in dance community. So glad I found them!
