African Restaurant Mozambique reviews
19We booked a table for four a day before. The waiter was so great. Enjoyed the meal. The drink was also nice. It had a very unique taste. Can't remember the name of the drink but I loved it. When it was 11pm, we all went up to enjoy the live band. Absolutely worth it. They also have a valet parking. Overall, the restaurant is a lil pricey but absolutely worth it. I also love the African theme. ️
I don’t give many negative reviews but this place was Very disappointing. This restaurant sounded like a fun and flavorful dining experience but a big two thumbs down. We ordered the Mixed Grill to share. Our waitress was no where in sight the majority of the evening and we had to get up to order. I have to mention that we were on the roof patio with only one two other tables. The food was completely under seasoned and when we commented on the food being subpar she said oh, okay and asked if we wanted dessert. She packed up the food but put all of cutlery on top of our food - gross! Only good thing was a large pour for the glass of wine. No plans to return and we would not recommend.
I had one of the best steaks ever here, and would give it 5 stars for the food, but the service SUCKED so bad, I mean just horrible, and that kinda dampened the whole experience.on my birthday, no less. Do better, Mozambique. It's not a cheap outing to dine here, make it worth my while.
Looooved everything about this restaurant. As we woke in we were greeted by two very large and beautiful parrots. I love birds. The host and servers were wonderful. One of the best costumer service experience I’ve ever had. The food was incredible and I didn’t wait too long. Superb. This place is a must go!
Was really surprised at how poor the food was, how expensive it was, and unfriendly the service was. Will never return. Great view of the parking lot from under the tent, though.
Nice set up, Great live music. Friendly service, very attentive. Great selection love the different combos offered. Return a must! Still need to try several entrée.
The seafood pretty good here. When we shut off for dinner at the place was packed. If you want to sit on the rooftop, you need to make a reservation, otherwise you're not going to. A fun surprise was that there was a live band on the second floor which was cool. Overall, the place is nice and we'll be back again to celebrate a special occasion
Went here on a date with my Special Friend & the food was tasty. Nice romantic atmosphere. Great band upstairs with dancing. We had lot's of fun. Rooftop bar offer's nice views of Laguna Beach. Cheer's!
Food was great. Had the chilean seabass. Had dinner on the rooftop. There were heatlamps on the roof, so made the dinner very cozy. Valet parking is on site, so no need to be concerned about parking. There was live entertainment the night I visited the restaurant, but music was a bit loud and any conversation with your dinner partner would have been difficult.
Danced to C Flat Band w Bobby Hawkins, Reggae. Excellent server, Juan. Delicious Mediterranean salad with prawns. Perfect cocktail.
My husband and I celebrated our the 10th wedding anniversary there. Great food and friendly staff! Wonderful atmosphere! We are have added them to our favor dinning list. So looking forward to dinning again!
Always happy with seafood salad, load with sea food dressing is delicious. This time though, I caught was being over charged, mentioned it to the waiter he corrected it but making excuses of why he made the mistake which make no sense to me. The salad wasn't on the happy hour menu at all but he said I didn't mention happy hour that why he charged me 34 dollar instead of 25, I didn't wast my energy to correct him though. Beside I enjoyed my salad, that what is matter.
Friendly staff at all positions, very responsive. Great menu with diverse options, the lamb and the seabass were highlights.
Gorgeous rooftop views, Excellent customer and exquisite menu. My party & I thoroughly enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and shrimp scampi!
Beautiful location, friendly staff! Stopped by here during happy hour and the rooftop dining didn’t disappoint. Happy hour food specials range from $12-$20 very reasonable for the experience you get. Good food prepared well definitely coming back next time in laguna beach.
Our server was very kind and assisted in giving us guidance on what to order. Lovely outdoor and indoor setting. Drinks were awesome
The food was excellent. However, I attempted to get a drink at the bar, while waiting for my table. There were only about 6 people at the bar, but both bartenders looked directly at me several times and would not acknowledge my existence. I left after 10 minutes of this. Too bad for them, I'm an excellent tipper.
Food was OK, way over priced for the portion, their online menu shows one price and their printed menu it was almost double the price listed on internet, servers were either short handed or lazy we asked for extra plate, and never got it
Someone suggested I go to Mozambique instead of Mastro's for their superior steaks and ambiance. This is the last time I make that mistake.
My parents came into town this past weekend, so I made a reservation for Friday at 7: 30pm (5 days ahead of time, reservations showed there was plenty open). I added a note saying I was buying a nice dinner for my parents and would appreciate a nicely placed table.
When I arrived, I was seated at a table next to the exit; not exactly what I was looking for, so I requested a new table and was promptly placed at table where my parents were substantially dripped on. When asking the manager about it, he said "that always happens when it rains, we'll move you. ' I was a little thrown off given the manager knew about it and had done nothing to fix it. I was placed at a table next to the kitchen entrance; again, not really what I asked for but alright.
A bread basket was not provided for the table until it was asked for, and the butter was freezing cold and hard as a rock.
We ordered our meals: wine, caesar salads, and a myriad of steaks. The salad might've had the most lackluster caesar dressing I've ever tasted, only to be complimented by a carpet bombing of cheese attempting to mask it. I was unimpressed to say the least. The steak came out, I ordered a NY strip cooked medium rare and when I cut it open I found it to be almost completely uncooked at the core. I understand if it's a little rare and it has to be cooked a little longer, but a completely uncooked steak? I'm surprised it was even served. I sent the steak back and it came back out cooked medium but at that point I just wanted to eat. To add a cherry on top, I feel like I couldn't gone to Ralphs and bought a steak just as good for a fraction of the price.
To top things off, all three of us got sick from the meal and had to spend the better part of the next day resting with medication. I had that much less time with my parents whom I see maybe twice a year.
I'd give it one star, but the wine selection was actually decent and the waiter displayed the degree of professionalism I'd expect from a steakhouse with this reputation.
