Mr. Fish & Chips, San Diego CA

The fish is amazing! The chips are thick like they should be, and all of it is a good price. Amazing serice.

My first time here. My wife used to go here when she was young and her first time back. She said the inside changed but the food was the same. I was pleasantly surprised! Got the Mr fish combo! This fish was the best fish I've had like this! Flakey, crispy, sweet, great with lemon and the fresh tartar sauce was yum! The fries were perfect. Cole slaw was on the soggy side for my taste. The guy had excellent customer service! I saw him give a to go order to someone before they even walked inside! He was so nice. The drive was worth it. Will be back! Thank you.

Love this place, owner is very nice and fish and chips are out of this world. Don't sleep on this place it's my GO TO for fish and chips. Nobody does it better love you guys

As a Brit, I love the Fish & Chips here. Very authentic and well presented. Not too keen on the seating area and parking is sometimes a little packed, but the food is very good, and that's what matters most.

Hands down the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, and I’m from New England so that says a lot. Such incredible service where the owner actually talks to his customers and makes sure they are taken care of. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting San Diego!

Delicious fish and chips. I'm glad for this place. I used to eat here but now I mostly just take it home to enjoy. It stays nice and hot.

We got the Mr. Fish combo (2 fish filet $17.99) and Seafood combo (1 fish, 5 scallops, 1 jumbo shrimp $19.99). Both came with fries, Cole slaw, and bunch of dipping sauces. Also got a can of soda.

I have to say, I wasn’t a fan of the batter. I prefer smooth thin crisp batter like tempura. This was crunchy bubble batter. Also no favor.

The service was great. It was served in donut boxes. Used as a carrying case and then you’ll get the lid for take out. This place was a tiny space and no AC. Outside was more hot than inside but I was sweating bullets inside. The restroom was open to the public. Couldn’t wash my hands. Instead, they had wet wipes and sanitizer.

One of the best fried seafood spot. And the hospitality was amazing. Would definitely come back when we're in town again.

First time visit for my husband and I. The visit was very pleasant. The man was friendly, patient, and had great customer service skills.

He explained the meals, substitution options, and made recommendations.

The food was tasty. The fish and shrimp seemed to be good quality and not overly greasy like other places (Fish was sideways not showing their full size). They also provided plenty of condiments (2 each).

The packaging was also nice. I appreciated the paper instead of styrofoam and limited plastic. The box was fairly large and was probably the same size as a box of a dozen donuts.

I don't think the restroom were open but I like that they provided the wet wipes. It's a good alternative for washing hands.

He was also generous and kind, adding an extra piece for us.

It's an easy going environment, we recommend coming here and will be coming back!

We are in. Several people did take out. Fish was very, crisp, with malt vinegar and very nice sauce. We're crispy. Overall, very nice for typical t/o.

Great Fish and chips, and shrips. Service was fantastic. Coleslaw is one of my favorites. It's the reason I keep coming back! It's all good!

The batter is light and fish is fresh and tender! There are shrimp, scallop, and oyster options too. Definitely will be back to try all the different combos:)

Excellent customer service! Food isn't bad either. Came here with my family while on vacation and they were very helpful offering suggestions for my young sons while ordering. They even threw in a side for my youngest. Next time we're in town we will definitely come back.
