Mt. Tamalpais Gravity Car Barn reviews
2 Visited this Gravity Car Barn while hiking to Mt. Tam peak. It only opens to public for a few weekends of the month and I believe it’s based on the availability of volunteers.
It’s great talk to on duty docent about the history and some other bits and back stories of Mt Tam and surroundings of Mill Valley in general.
I am glad that Mt. Tam has managed to restore and keep the gravity car and built this barn to display the past, artifacts and many photographs on display.
I recommend to check the website, or call the park office to find out the days it will be open to public. Schedules are keep changing everywhere due to staff shortages.
A cool little barn and some information boards describing the historic Mt. Tam railroad and gravity cars that use to exist on the mountain. The Car Barn is only open on Saturday from 12pm to 4pm. A nice historic site to see with some interesting history of the tourism in Mt. Tam.
