Muir Woods Visitor Center reviews
18Great little cafe. Nice facilities. Main visitors center does close half an hour before the park. Architecturally fits well within the woods. Parking is by reservation at $10 and to get into the woods is $15.
It was closed to wandering around, but they still had the passport stamp station available in a window and you could purchase limited souvenirs at a desk with a ranger. I like to look around though, so found this annoying.
Service was limited due to COVID but rangers and volunteers were courteous. Would like to visit again in spring or summer.
Amazing amazing place! If you don’t feel like going far off to Redwoods then go to MuirWoods. North of San Francisco and a day trip only from South Bay or East Bay. Such a refreshing and beautiful place. The hikes are amazing and well maintained. On weekends and Holidays, there are shuttle busses that takes you up to the Woods; best way to get there!
** Salute to the people/organization that started this shuttle service **
Breathe taking views of ginormous trees that have grown so tall like towers to the sky. What a magical place to wonder and feel so small in comparison. Great place to feel close to nature.
My wife wanted to go see the redwoods so off we go. We took the golden gate bring through Sausalito and up the winding rows of the mountain. There were several amazing views and places to stop along the way. Once we got to Muir we enjoyed the nice walk through the forest. It was a little windy and damp but overall it was a good afternoon.
Just a beautiful drive up to the park. The redwoods are really amazing and the trail is easy if you are ambulatory and probably in a traditional wheelchair. We however were in a lightweight transport type chair and it was a little tricky. But the biggest tale away of the morning is BEAUTIFUL, just beautiful.
Beautiful park to walk and learn about the importance to preserve our trees and planet. Good way to do exercise and breathe clean air.
Big redwood. Family-friendly easy hike. For hike pros there are a couple of trails into wilderness to explore as well.
Beautiful woods with hiking trails definitely a park to visit. Come prepared with water and hiking boots!
You will be at one with nature. Take the path less traveled and go to the canopy view trail. It’s more difficult but worth it to spend time away from the crowd.
Enjoyed watching amazing Redwood trees. Nice place for 3-4 hrs hangout.
Plz make sure to reserve parking in advance.
Also enjoyed the driving on the hill. Worth to visit this place.
Gorgeous! Go early before the crowds shatter the peace of it, and definitely go on the actual trails, not just the boardwalk, if you want a more immersive experience.
Darn. Parking for 8.5 dollars plus 15dollars for each adult. Where do our tax money go? We pay a fortune just to get a chance hiking here? ! Shame Democrats.
Pleasant drive, great experience of trails and the Redwoods. No mobile signal understandably when you are standing amidst the giants. There is a Gift shop. Rest rooms are few and can get busy.
Beautiful, great hikes, very busy in the front then opens up. Make sure you get reservation for parking. Worth going at least once.
This place is great. It is touristy so expect foot traffic. Took kids around 1.5 hour loop and detoured half way through the higher elevation path and did not regret! A lot less traffic and just amazing views. Parking reservations required, we didn’t have one so we had to walk on a dangerous street for about a mile with kids. It’s very doable just be careful if you have little ones.
Fantastic park with many trails, keep in mind that even those described as easy if they go up there might be stairs to climb or go down and your knee will feel them …
Also distance not sure how it measured, we did 3 miles loop which was mostly up the first half and down the second and my app showed at the end about 5 miles
Still it was great and just wish we had more time.
Next time will make reservation for few days not just one.
There is sign not to enter food so either leave it in your car or plan to eat before you start the trail.
