Murphy's Surplus reviews
17 I'm trying to find the words to adequately convey what I felt when I walked into this store. Not the kid In a toy store analogy. More like an autistic kid with OCD, stumbled into a hidden door in his own neighborhood to find a magical electronic enginierner salvage yard. Okay, sorry, I sound like a Crack head.
Let me explain. I've lived right down the street from this place for the last 10 years, never been inside, my old lady's been telling me for the last ten years I've gotta check it out. Never did.don't know why. But. I realy wish I had. I could verry literally spend all day in there. My brain kind of melts and goes on overload as I walk down the aisle. Last two years I've undertaken a task to build something that should have changed humanity in 1938, but was hidden, destroyed, and discredited. I'm a week away from completion, and I find this store that could have made everything so much easier. A book by Barry lynes. The Cancer Cure That Worked: 50 Years of Suppression
the most incredible thing you'll ever read. It's all true. I Was hoping the guys in the store would know who this guy was since he was from san diego and all, and be impressed with my build, but. Alan is super cool and extreamly reasonable for prices.
If your looking for hard to find electronics and surplus this is the place. This is one of my top rated businesses in El Cajon.
Art lovers, junk lovers, DIY-ers, etc. Murphy's has a lot of neat trinkets from industrial, electronic, Military, to random surplus items. You can have fun and get lost in here for awhile browsing what they get in or fully supply! Lots of long time customers and new. If they don't have what you're looking for or can't answer your question they kindly help you in the direction of someone or somewhere else that has what you need.
I was looking for fuse holder for my meat slicer and I want to three big electrical stores they didn’t have it somebody told me about Murphy’s I went there and they have everything you name it I found the exact one and very cheap like $1.50 each I was so happy made my day
This is a super cool place! Lots of old electronics stuff. I really enjoyed looking around and I hope they are around for a long time.
First visit: felt like I found my happy place! Friendly dog by the front door, LED switches by the bucket and all sorts of parts and treasures to be sifted through at great prices!
This is one of my favorite places to go and peruse, there are so many things that can be refashioned into other things, and all sorts of unique types of hardware and fasteners, I got a 5amp 12volt bench power supply for 10 bucks.would've been 30/40 elsewhere. Stock up on heat shrink, wire and cable for a number of projects I'm doing. So if you never met a tool you didn't want, this is the place to go to get raw materials to tool with, scrap and bulk metals, electronic components, military surplus etc etc. Best surplus dealer in San Diego county. And one of the few and true surplus to all type businesses period!
I go here to get parts for electronic projects. They have always had what I need at a good price and there is nowhere else within a reasonable distance.
This place is amazing! So many cool things to look at and a great place for bulk hardware.
It's the best industrial / electronics store in town. Its where i can find the hard to find stuff. Prices are great and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. I reccomend this place 100 percent
Lots of products for electrical, electronic and hardware projects. A great place to walk and browse before you start your next project! Screws, nuts, lags, washers, straps, cables, resisters, capacitors, transformers, small solar panels, cameras, AC chargers, etc. I Will Be Back!
I have come here periodically for years, for random knick knacks, electronic parts, and various pieces for puppetry and robotic type stuff. Haven't been disappointed once!
Had just what I was looking for. Just happened to have a hdmi cable I could use on my camera to monitor. What a break!
Great place for used electronic supplies. Some new too. Fun place to wander around. Military surplus too.
They have a lot of stuff, industrial surplus for the DIY type person, motors, screws, fasteners, electronics, some tools, unusual things that can be adapted for other tasks. If you're not a gear head, and don't want to get your hands dirtied don't bother you will hate the place.
Very cool place. Has a lot of stuff that could be helpful for a handyman or a tech savy person.
Mike, his brother, Alan, Greg, and everyone at Murphy's have been a real blessing in providing the key components to bring my dream projects to life since the 1980's. They had the transformers, tubes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, and test equipment that I couldn't get without them. I like the hands on service and ability to dig through the bin's and containers to find a specific 1/4-28 grade 8 bolt that was $0.50 instead of $25.at the parts house. And it was in stock! You made many of our career's at work successful! Thank you. I can say this without a doubt!
