You definitely don't get an equal bang for your buck. If you order sushi service is fairly quick but anything other, IE tempura, you will have a decently long wait. I posted an updated menu, since most have outdated prices.

So being Hapa, I feel like I have an unjustified authority about reviewing Japanese food. But full disclosure, I’m the only Asian I the world allergic to any type of tuna so take it with a grain of salt. I’m sure the sashimi is delicious!

But I’m kinda surprised that this place has been here for decades and I’ve finally tried it out. It’s such a great restaurant at pre-inflation pricing. There were no bad dishes here but the highlights were the seaweed salad and soft shell crab. Just an all around excellent Japanese cuisine.

Also it is white table cloth so show some respect and dress up a bit. It’s pretty pathetic seeing dudes in gym shorts and backwards hats which in Japanese we call that; yabanjing.

Best sushi in the desert. Quality level extremely high and prices are reasonable. We had a blast here and staff couldn’t have been nicer. Quality better than many of the revered sushi spots in LA and fish was fresh fresh fresh. Will be coming back.

Out in the Palm Desert, I did not have the highest expectations having visited the area previously

Musashi exceeds expectations and with a low-key dining room full with diners who appreciate and acknowledge quality sushi, delivers a great meal

The menu is broad without being excessive and everything we ordered hit the spot

The nigiri menu changes daily and though they were out of a few popular items like aji, the selection is indication enough of the authenticity

I also liked the sake selection and we enjoyed a quality Junmai Daiginjo in Kabuto

The extreme rudeness from the female owner when we first arrived astonished us! A last minute illness of one member of our party reduced our reservation number from 6 to 5. The owner took it as a personal affront and accused us of costing her money! There were many other empty tables in the restaurant. We should have left immediately. It put us off our entire evening. Foor was average but overpriced. Will definitely never return!

The rudeness from the owner when we first arrived ruin our evening. Extremely rude and condescending to us.

The staff here is very attentive and courteous. We had dinner for 8 with some old friends we hadn’t seen in years. Needless to say, we were a bit chattery and festive but the staff was patient and took great care of us. Food was excellent and we all left happily full. Thank you Musashi & staff!

OMG, I've been looking for a *real* sushi place in the a Coachella Valley. This place is as good as my favorite place (now retired) in a San Francisco, and rates very well compared to sushi places in Japan.

First and last time. Had high hopes but very dry White meat chicken teriyaki. No flavor California roll. $25 Tuna tataki salad with scraps of Tuna rather than nice even pieces. All at premium prices.

Great Sushi, Melts in your mouth. Same Original Crew since I first went there over 25 years ago. Price is average for a sushi place, the Uni is very pricey at $30 but from Japan.
