Museum of Art and History reviews
25Updated exhibits and a solid focus on the community. This is a great place to visit when you're at the BLVD no matter why you're in the area. Those kids are the front are mostly volunteers who care about the exhibits. Don't be afraid to donate a little to the cause.
Small but great museum. Had wonderful time and saw some fantastic displays. Free to go but they suggest a donation.
Great exhibits, small place but not too small. Free admission and they accept donations. Friendly staff, great place to visit to see some cool art.
The opening reception for some really great artists. Edwin Vasquez, Mary Anna Pomonis, Gary Lang and so many others. Show goes until April 19. Worth your time!
I've seen to three different shows this year, I think they change it 4 times a year. I loved the exhibit that showed cassette tape being repurposed and knitted into beautiful works as well as tires being melted into a new creation. The latest one (Fall 2019) was a bit too dark for me. I'd suggest looking at the free exhibit guide they offer at the front desk to determine if little ones should see what is exhibited. Entry is free with a suggested donation. I also would highly recommend renting their rooftop space for an event. It's beautiful!
Had a party here, the staff is very UNORGANIZED, everyone gives different information, they did NOT turn on the lights for our rooftop party or remove the old balloons hanging from the lights, the night of my party the AC was leaking water and a unit had to be turned off. When I called to speak with the Manager she was unavailable and STILL has not returned my call.
We loved this place! Fun exhibits, video rooms, an awesome rooftop, a children's art room, and a little store.
I recommend this as a great destination for an inexpensive family trip. MetroLink from DTLA Union Station to Lancaster. Sunday's are $10 round trip. Visit the museum. Have lunch at a local restaurant or pastry shop and head back.
Good air conditioned facility with well chosen artists for each exhibit. The museum staff is helpful but hover too closely (for no other reason than you are the only visitors) makes the experience a little uncomfortable.
This was a fabulous museum. I was in awe from the time we got there, until we walked out the door. The museum was VERY clean, they even waxed the cement stairs! My daughter of 23years loved it as much as I did. I was a great afternoon spent together. I can't wait to do it again!
The place is wonderful and full of great local art that is constantly changing every month or two. Whether it's to visit or to submit your own artwork it's definitely worth checking out especially for the great price of $0.
If you're visiting the Antelope Valley be sure to check out this Museum. It is one of the treasures that Lancaster has to offer.
This is a beautiful facility and there were several displays when I went. It is not large, so you probably only need to budget 30 min to an hour to go through (longer if you like to linger with your art experience). The gift shop is nicely done.
It's cool lots of trippy stuff but if you're anything like me, then hope there's someone there to break it down to you, I can't always tell what the meaning is behind the art.
Always worth stopping by. Many great exhibits that will give you a nice hour or two of enjoyment. Also check out the rooftop.
One of the best cultural experiences in Lancaster. Truly a five-star Museum. Contemporary and historical.
Knew about this place for a while never went finally went and I'm glad I did because now I'm gonna go back with some more friends my experience there was amazing there's a lot of great art A lot of talented people Its amazing some of the stuff you see in your own local community I would definitely recommend it not to mention it's free And you can get a pretty good view on the roof
I love this place. Everytime I go here it's awesome. We really need more galleries here in Lancaster. Once we have more galleries, we can have art walks, and get more people to visit the AV.
This place is beautiful, I love the modern style. They have interesting exhibits and like to encourage the community to join in.
The building itself and the artwork it exhibits are nice, but the art is a bit oddly spaced and the curators didn't offer much insight.
They need to advertise better. I never see any flyers or adverts promoting new exhibits.
The employees seem blasé. Like.where's the passion? Not here.
Viewed as an exhibit there for its grand opening you have a wonderful time and it's a beautiful place and family friendly
