Don was on vacation, but answered my email anyway. He worked on my Thorens Disk music box on his return and sent it to me quickly. "Sudden" service, and a beautiful restoration. Works great!

Don was a great find! I recently received a music box that has been in the family for many years. Only one of the three songs played and there was a raspy background sound at times. I tried for quite a while, across the country, to find someone who seemed capable and willing to repair and do maintenance on the music box. Don was spot on at every turn. He responded quickly, gave me detailed information that I needed about it and how to mail it. His price was reasonable. His turnaround time great. I am now enjoying this antique music box on a regular basis! On top of it all, he is a really nice guy! I recommend him highly.

My name is Christina, I called after hours and left a message. Don called me in the morning and I was able to return his call later that afternoon. My mother gave me a little gesture like doll sitting on a rotating pillow about 10 years ago. My niece broke it like 7 years ago, and I have been unable to fix it. My mother passed away last year, so I’ve taken a renewed interest in the doll. I emailed Don the pictures of what I had and he walked me through being able to fix it. We had an older carousel music box that had been overwound and the gear inside had been broken. (The only local guy we found was unwilling to even try to fix it and very dismissive). Then I found Don online and emailed him a picture to see what he could do. He wrote me back a very detailed and thorough email regarding my options to fix it (he was confident he could) but also explained the cost involved in mailing back/forth (we live in Nevada) might not be worth it given the value of the box. Given it was more sentimental than valuable, and since we make regular trips out to CA, we were able to bring it to him, figuring we would drive back to his place the next day to pick it up after a family visit, and instead, spent a pleasant hour with him while we waited and watched him replace the inside mechanism and put it back together! I would highly recommend Don and Music Box Repair Shop Unlimited to anyone wanting quality work at a great price! I will definitely be telling everyone we know to use him for any music box repair!
