Musso & Frank Grill reviews
19Absolutely loved visiting this piece of Hollywood history. Star barstaff led by Ian showed their class. Great vibe. Loved it.
Atmosphere and services were great! We had beef, scallops, shrimp, escargot and dessert. One of the ladies came out and told us that the baked potato and mushrooms was very good but nah. Just normal standard but the scallops and escargot were really good. The beef must order the sauce if not will be too plain.
I was a tiny bit worried this might be a touristy place & not quite worthy of the reputation but I couldn't have been more wrong. First, the service here is impeccable - from the gentleman who checked us in, the gentleman who brought us to the table & came back to check on us later, remembering our names, to our server who was wonderful. And the food was perfect. They really are great at what they do & we a had a very special night. I wish we had the time to go back for another meal!
Hands down the best filet mignon (medium) I've ever tasted. I came across this spot while on Google searching up best steak restaurants in Los Angeles. I believe it was #3. Checked out some YouTube videos on the restaurant, and it had good reviews, so I had to try. Since it's Hollywood, I didn't want to struggle with parking, so I got a valet. Upon entering, you will find a phonebooth (photo op) and the restrooms. Service was on point from the moment we got our tables (reservation). Alex, our waiter, made sure our drinks were good and wow the food. I can't explain it. It's just so good. The filet mignon was so tender and juicy. Easy to cut. It's absolutely insane. I'm not exaggerating. I promise. Just come here and get the filet mignon.
When in Hollywood, the resturant is a must, not only for the old Hollywood secluded vibe, but the food and drink were amazing!
But make sure to make reservations.
Second time coming here. Each time was a very nice experience. Our first time here, we brought our family, and then we came back for a late night birthday dinner for my husband and date night.
Everyone's favourite Hollywood eating/drinking establishment. It's an absolutely beautiful place steeped in history and nostalgia.
Ian, the head waiter at the back bar is a super star! I've never seen a better bartender in my life, he had everything covered all the time, and was so friendly, we all loved him.
I had the hot turkey sandwich which was lovely, the fries were great and I'm sure they used about 4 spuds. The avocado salad is historic and justly famous. The prices aren't scary and all the staff were super friendly and funny. I get why M&F's been in business since 1919.
It's also a 10 minute walk to Grauman's theatre and the Hollywood walk of fame.
Easily one of the best "old school" restaurants in town. This traditional Hollywood gem is and has always been ideal for special occasions.or not! The food, service and ambience is always topnotch.
This is a steakhouse worth eating when you come to LA! When you enter the store, friendly and nice employees will guide you to your table. The staff's service is very friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable:) As soon as I sat down, they gave me a menu and an aperitif bread. The aperitif bread was ordinary, but the butter that came with it was high-quality and soft. I was worried because there was a review saying the food came out late, but it came out similar to other restaurants! The New York steak is soft, thick, and delicious. The knife is really cool. It's a perfect knife for cutting meat The salmon steak is really soft, not tough at all, and delicious! ;)
Got the Prime Rib and it was amazing, the service was quick and very professional. It is loud in the restaurant. Overall very good experience
Aside from having been told to put on a jacket for having worn a Project Rock cutoff, everything was great about this restaurant. The atmosphere and pizazz especially.
Musso & Frank Grill.an institution. After many visits to LA, I eventually found time to eat here. This place as much history and stories to tell. The servers and assistants are professional and not over the top as might be expected. The food is good and not overpriced. Private booths, good food, good service, great history. So glad that I made the time to go.
When a fabulous place! Excellent service, wonderful, personable waiter (Abner). The food was great. The pan-seared scallops were perfect. The grilled swordfish was so tender. Delicious creme brule. And the atmosphere in the private dining room was very relaxing.
Was my first time in this very nice Restaurant! We really enjoy it to dining in here. Food excellent! Service, the best! We look forward to go again! And very soon!
A historical visit. The service was good, the young man with water and drinks did an excellent job with the increasingly busy crowd. Busy and a bit tight inside. The food was not what I expected. I had the easiest item on the menu. Pasta with basil sauce. I was a bit surprise to see cherry tomatoes dotting my dish. The dish needed more basil, better quality pasta, and a sweet tomato sauce with the sliced garlic cooked down a bit more. The onion soup had a good flavor but too much croutons for the size of the cup. The table bread was good. The Roman lettuce could have been fresher, it was a little bitter. The world in hollywood was fast, while we walked over John Barrymore's star.
Had an awesome experience eating at the legendary Musso & Frank Grill. We were there on their 104th anniversary and completely understand why this place has been around for so long. Great & friendly service by our waiter.he always had great suggestions for us. The food was just delicious.the original fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Parmesan were outstanding. You need to eat here if visiting Hollywood.
Great drinks, AMAZING STEAKS, tasty desserts. MAKE AN RSVP or you won't get in, even on a Sunday night.
The food is excellent and the portions very generous. The Mac n cheese and kidneys were excellent
If you’re coming here for the history, then go for it. If you’re coming for the food at all, it seems to have gone way downhill since the last time I was there a couple of years ago. The food was pretty sub par as other reviews mention. Although the multi-layered staff structure caught the problems we had with the food, and tried to make up for it, the value for money regarding the food is just not what I would expect from such a historical institution. Maybe it was because they had just opened on a Wednesday night, but it was very disappointing. Whatever you do, don’t order the $29 fettuccine Alfredo, it was not worth more than $12 at best. I appreciate the effort to make the experience better, but it simply was not enough to overcome the disappointment in portion sizes and quality of the cook.
