Japanese Restaurant Nara reviews
13Nara is doing everything Right! From the freshness of the Sushi to the prompt service from the staff. My wife and I went to Nara about two weeks ago and we had the best experience. Every staff member was helpful and extremely kind. Brian definitely made our night. The Fish was incredibly fresh and we were able to try an interesting special (uni shooter). And if you're looking to get into Sake, Nara has a large selection from entry level to top shelf. They make every customer feel like a VIP
Very fresh sushi and an extensive list of sakes available. We enjoyed the omaske sashimi platter we got! Looked gorgeous. Got the karaage appetizer and the garlic edamame which were quite tasty too
Decent Japanese food. The sashimi portions were generous and fresh. The chicken karage was not my favourite though, I’d recommend skipping that.
Placed online order for 5: 15pm pick up but waited till 5: 30pm. Seemed like they didn’t work on my order until I got there. They were not sorry about it, said they were busying on other dine-in guests. What’s the point of preorder online?
Food was great, but they didn’t have heaters for outdoor seating, and their “walls” to separate the were thin sheets of wood.
Was not communicated to our group of 7 upfront that we would have to pay a 20% gratuity on our meal.
Love this place a lot. We end up coming here for late night bites more often than actual dinner, and they have a reliably excellent selection of sushi and appetizers. Our favorites are the rice poppers, a blast of crunchy goodness, but you can't go wrong with any of the rolls and their specials on the board. Service is also good on top of the great food. The only thing that's not so great is the price, which is on the expensive side, even for a sushi place, but it's tasty enough to justify a splurge every once in a while.
This is very reasonable price high end style sushi, roll, and kitchen foods. Best sake is here. Best quality draft beer is here. Nice wine is here. Especially, freshness of fish is very great and good quality. Sashimi is not thin. It is very thick. Chicken karage is good too.
A must go when you want to have great sushi. It's the best I have ever eaten! Awesome sashimi! I love it.
The avocado ball appetizer I ordered was delicious. The sushi roll I ordered was not.
The staff was also very pushy and not very friendly.
The shrimp tacos in wonton wrappers (happy hour item) are delicious! The sushi descriptions are unique, but it's hard to taste the unique additional flavors.
One of the best sushi restaurant in San Francisco. Hands down. Chef Kevin really knows his trick and entertain me every time I visit here.
Food, service, and music! May was the best, she kept the sale and food flowing. We went for the nigiris, tartare, and rolls. They open till 11: 30 so if you need late dinner sushi or dinner, this is the spot!
