5 ROAD IS CLOSED DUE TO FIRE DAMAGE

The access road is still closed due to a fire last year. Locals say it might reopen in 2023. So save the time and do not go there. So sad…
05/28/2021- drove for 1 hr from nelson camp to find road is closed from fire damage about 8mins to the natural water slides: (
A little over half a mile hike to this natural slide from the main road. Water is cold but worth the fun. Wear water shoes as the rocks tend to be very slippery when wet.
Alot of fun on a hot day. Definatly going back. The water in the pool at the bottom in about 7 to 8 ft. Deep and about 6 to 7 ft wide so you will have to now how to swim or wear a life jacket. I would also recommend bringing a tube as you move a lot faster on it.
