An outstanding asset to South Central Los Angeles. It features a strong student government, which cultivates leadership development. I had the opportunity to be apart of the first graduating class. I served as Class President and took advantage of the business and technology courses that were offered. This school only lacks adequate funding from the district. Students on campus cope with limited textbooks, old classrooms, and little to no green grass.

Part of the the NCPA experience is to make the best of our funding and take action. I fundraised more than $25,000 for the Class of 2018 with Student Council. Many clubs and organizations have also received substantial support from corporation like Deloite Consulting, X-Prize, and Don Lee Farms in the form of grants, product donations, and field trips.

It is important to note that while funding is limited, access to technology is supreme here. Bolstering two new computer laps filled with IMACS, more than 20 computer carts, state of the art printers, drones, 3D Printers, and other resources, students are encouraged to explore STEM fields. Every year the school allocates more than $100,000 towards technology. Some great software accessible to all is Adobe, Microsoft Office, and LAUSD Schology.

If you are a prospective student or staff member, then be prepared to join the family. Everyone on campus is expected to contribute in their own unique way. Staff are on annual contracts, meaning faculty is evaluated based on their performance and asked to return every year. This contract holds staff accountable for teaching and participating after school at the highest standards. Students must complete 40 hours of community serves to be eligible for graduation. Staff on campus will know your name. You will not get away with misbehavior or go without your needs being met since its such a small campus.

At times, students may leave NCPA to attend Sante, Jefferson, or Maya only to quickly realize they made a mistake. We offer a small family community that is driven by passion.

Our professional white collar shirt, tie, and black slack uniform is very impressive. On hot days, you may need to roll up your sleeves or grab some shade at the main quad. No shorts are allowed under no circumstance. If you regularly are out of uniform, then staff will support you through purchasing uniforms or consulting with your parents.

When it comes to college readiness, this is the place to go. Students on campus are exposed to various options after high school. Many students here are easily accepted to Cal States, UC's, and private colleges. I personally was accepted to Dartmouth (Ivy League), UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, and several other private colleges. My friends at school have similar options including UC Berkeley, Bowdoin College, Claremont McKenna, and Middlebury. You too can have options after high school by immersing into life on campus.

Paid internships are available for junior and senior through All Peoples Community Center and UCLA Beyond the Bell.

Parking on campus is limited

Sports are shared with Thomas Jefferson High School

My last piece of advise is to embrace everyone on campus. Staff will go above and beyond so you can academical and socially be successful. Speak to a counselor or an administrator without hesitation as you are one of us.

My experience right there is rather depressing but I had no guilt anymore thanks to those horrible grades I've had I will not listen to them nor I will take all the negative grades from them because all they believe there is nothing but perfection but someday they'll learn what true difference is. Plus they may think the neighborhood is safe but no because they might never knew what will happen to them.whether there'll be criminals or gangs disguised as one of their own.

Best school in the community. If your child is intelligent, they will have no problem in this school. Teachers are the best and truly care about their students.
