NewBridge School, Poway CA

My son goes to this school and they are the best at helping him understand things that is hard for him. They are very patient with all their students and if there is a problem with student they will address it.

Potential new student families are treated rudely, they don't return calls. You have to send them your IEP just to get them to answer your questions which they still didn't.

Then they wrote and said my child would not be a good fit.fine, but then go on to say they are full next year anyway.

Oh really? Then why bother asking for paperwork and taking up my time?

I made the mistake of asking for referral. Of course they didn't bother answering.

It isn't easy having to look for a school for your child that has disabilities. Their dismissivness left us feeling badly.

School is a scam, i attended New bridge for 3 years They were teaching me 5+5 in 5th grade expecting me to it get into a good high school and collage in normal time. (as they always said their goal was to get us kids on track with Normal kids) Yes they would compare us to "normal kids". I told my parents this in 6th grade and that year i left this school to a catholic middle school in La Jolla (known to be harder).
Coming from Newbridge into this new school i was about 2-3 years behind the learning level to the other kids. Newbridge held me back a grade when i first went there in 4th grade saying i wasn't up with my grade reading level (so for No reason). My catholic school got me caught up quickly (within 2 months) and the next year i got into Cathedral Catholic High school the next year skipping 8th grade and back up with my normal age group and grade.
This school should be free, not 15,000+ a year. Mr. Mayo and his wife are both insane and scam artist and deserve to be sued for all the money they have made off doing nothing for children. The teachers are all stupid and do NOT know how to place a child where they belong. Sorry for the hard truth but every kid who liked this school had real problems with life, learning and socializing. The kids like me who were put in this school for different reasons other then learning disabilities were instantly grouped in with the kids who has learning problems. Now i am doing better then most, driving cars of my dreams, living anywhere i would like and doing things the normal person cant.i am not here to brag just hoping this will reach the right person to make the best choice for their own life or for their child's life.

I took 3 kids to school from Enineitas and carlsbad for 3 years and those kids loved that school and I got quite involved I have around 500 photos of graduations ans school plays. Their in my heart

They helped me so much with my dislexia and they prepared me for high school.
