Wonderful gym with small community feel. Easily best mens locker room/spa in the area.

Since 1971 the Newport Beach Athletic Club has kept celebrities' educators, and elite members of Newport society healthy in a clean, modern facility (offering month to month) contracts for men/women.

Customer service by Tom and Dorothy and the legacy of the dynamic team of Tom and John aka "Mr. B" have merited write ups in the OC Register. Wonderful, clean and modern aesthetics here.

After dining with Tom and Dorothy I came to know why people-despite many gyms/clubs in Newport-frequented NBAC, its simple, honest and *individualized care by Tom, Dorothy and John.

*Customer is family and attended for 11 years.

The Training Room is awesome! There's tons of space, great equipment, and super knowledgeable staff! Definitely worth the cost!

The Newport Beach Athletic Club was a surreal experience for me. This gym is more likely to cater to those who have an affinity for the old school workouts as opposed to people who are drawn by the trends. The gyms are separated by gender, so women will work out with women while men will work out with men.

For the men's gym, the roof has its own track, the second floor has an extensive variety of weight-lifting equipment (along with cardio equipment), and the ground floor has sports courts for racquetball and basketball. What is arguably the draw here for me is their spa circuit - This is the only place that I’ve seen with a eucalyptus room, their cold pool is sub 60 degrees Fahrenheit, their jets vary by power with placement, and the steam room gives you a workout. As the spa is entirely located in the men’s locker room, it is clothing optional. They also offer towels and shower shoes

My only gripe is the limited hours - This is not a place for those who want a late night workout and the gym is only open 10-4 on Sundays. If that’s not a big deal to you, then you can get a day or week pass instead of a monthly membership, but the membership pays for itself after 8 or 9 visits. It’s not my full-time spot, but I do go there for my spa circuit when the need arises.
