Nguyen's Kitchen reviews
19The grilled pork sandwich (bahn mi) was uninspiring. The peach lychee green tea was bitter and overly sweet at the same time. The crayfish and noodles was a bit spicy although the crayfish seemed to be undersized bay shrimp. Meh
I like their other location way more. All the dishes here for some reason are incredibly oily. The only exceptions are the sandwiches which though it's not drowning in oil, it is quite overpriced for what you get. I would go the extra drive to their other location than go here.
Food was good! We ordered grilled pork sandwich and Korean beef fries. The flavor is not as authentic as mom and pop viet restaurant flavor. Service is not very nice. They won’t even call numbers when food is done: (I loved this creamy sweet white/green sauce for fries. Very spicy and good flavor!
I don't care how busy you are or how good your food is. I call to quickly ask if the kitchen uses peanuts before I order something via delivery. I was placed on hold for over 5 minutes and then the phone is just busy and no one ever picks up. I have been trying to call for the past 20 minutes.
I had and consequently have still never been able to try these guys.
My work schedule gets me back home late. So these guys going close and open late have been on my list to try.
Unfortunately I have stopped by now three times in 6 weeks and still unable to have the Pho. Apparently they sell through too much each day because the option is always out by the time I get there.
If I ever make it there and they have Pho available i will review then regarding the quality of the food. This is just very disappointing to be the only late night Pho open near me and I have never been able to try it.
This place always delivers. They have excellent food for convenient rates, there are no long waits even when they are packed.
OVERPRICED! Basically for $11 you get the smallest pho I only came here because it was closest to me after 9pm. They drenched the chicken with pepper.the veggies were old and dry that you see on the side. The untintils were so cheap and frail could barely scoop anything with it even using a fork as well. DEFINITELY would not recommend their pho. Plain broth don't waste your money here ended up throwing it out. Buyer Beware!
I truly need to stop going by pictures on Instagram and what I see and what you see what you get when you go to order from this places. The beef sliders had 0 flavor I mean where is the seasoning? Only the sauce they soaked it in had seasoning: - (
I went last night and was just going to get the popcorn chicken but decided to get more because it looked so good! The customer service was wonderful - not only were they kind but they were very knowledgeable about their menu which really helps an indecisive person like myself. Definitely going again!
I had never heard of this place but they had good reviews, and since wifey and I are on a "let's try new places" binge, we gave it a go. We were not disappointed. We tried out the garlic noodles and the cajun fries with their steak. I also ordered the fried pork buns. Everything was delicious! The noodles have a mid to slightly strong garlic taste, and the fries had a little heat and paired very well with the steak. As for the meat itself, it was slightly sweet. I think that was due to the caramelized onions and whatever sauce they cook it in. Overall, I would highly recommend giving them a shot. We'll definitely be repeats at this place!
I've been wanting to try this spot since boyfriend moved into Newport Beach a year ago. We got 2 banh mi, order of french fries and 2 thai teas. We got the grilled pork banh mi and the garlic chicken breast with mushrooms and the food came out warm but the flavor wasn't what I normally know banh mi is. The french fries were good and the teas were good too. But the sandwiches were not my taste.
This is obviously one of the finest restaurants in the area. Always when I come to this place I am exceedingly happy. They keep their high level service and the topmost level of food they give. You no doubt will love this restaurant. Very recommended.
Everything was amazing. Me and my friends sat and ate everything in the car. The sliders, the pasta, the wings just everything ️
Outstanding food! I'd call it "comfort food with an Asian twist". The Garlic Noodles with bulgogi is an awesome dish with great flavor. The Cajun Crawfish Pasta was outstanding. Very spicy and a large portion. And don't forget about the sliders, so tender and juicy and packed with flavor as well. We definitely will be back!
I ordered the popcorn chicken and garlic fries, and it wasn’t bad! The chicken was moist, crunchy, and was nicely portioned. The garlic fries were also yummy, and I love how they’re cut like shoe string fries, making it not too overwhelming to eat. I also liked the honey mustard sauce that it came with to add some flavor to the dish.
If there’s anything to improve on, I would say that the popcorn chicken could have used some more spice and citrus notes. Some paprika or chili flakes would have added an element of surprise to the snack, and a dash of lemon would have tied it all together. It was rather ordinary as I tasted mostly salt and pepper.
The fries are pretty good, the amount of garlic was just the right amount, and it wasn’t as overbearing. I would definitely recommend asking for more honey mustard sauce because the snacks definitely need it!
Overall, I’d recommend trying out this place and getting this if you’re on the go~
Rude employees. Terrible service. They go cheap on everything, including the bags they put their food in, which ripped and spilled all over my car. Please explain why you’d put hot pasta in a lunch bag meant for a pbj sandwich? Terrible job and I won’t be coming back
The place offers a great variety of fresh food. I enjoyed dining here. The employees are always very nice, prices are reasonable and the spot is always clean.
Customer service is excellent and they are open late. They use the delivery services if you're looking at that. Located in a shopping plaza on the corner of 17th and Irvine.
The Cajun garlic fries are great hot or cold. The bulgogi steak sandwich leaves a lot to be desired. The Thai tea isn't sweet at all so, depends on if that's your thing or not. I got those 3 things and it came to about 16 dollars. Not worth it in my opinion.
I like this place! They provide first-rate dishes, their menu is decent, The cook in that restaurant is well trained, I love a lot trying all their food. The dishes are always of high qualtity, the service towards the guests is efficient. I go often to this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend this place.
