Great staff, loving, friendly professional. Wasn't thrilled about not being able to be with my puppy for her first visit. Due to the covid precautions. But she came back as if nothing happened. Happy as always.

I called two days before my appointment and asked that I could come in with my dog. I was told that since it was my first appointment that I could come in. No stipulations, nothing. I get here and am told it is up to the doctor then get told the doctor decided to not accommodate us at all. Do not lie to your clients saying that they can come in when they can’t. That is why I came to yall, is because you said I could come in. I am fully vaccinated, never shown symptoms and even said I would wear a mask. My dog needed just an exam for rabies vaccine. Takes not even five minutes. You had him for over 15 minutes doing who knows what to my dog because I couldn’t even see a single thing. This is before the doctor even came out telling me that she had not done the vaccine yet. The doctor even asked me the same questions that the tech asked me, which shows they did not communicate. She even asked me for the proof of his previous vaccines, which I had already emailed, so that must have never been put in my file. I understand this is not the techs faults or the receptionists fault, but I am livid at the situation beyond extent. My dog was back there for at least 10 more minutes after. You lied to your customers and overcharge us to begin with. We will never be coming back.

I haven’t had complications for the service provided to my pets but I have had issues with billing and getting results in a timely manner. I started taking my puppy to Nichol’s and got the puppy package thinking it was a good idea. BEWARE. It seems the employees do not understand what the puppy package entails (even after I had explained to them) and will overcharge for meds that should already be included. I know this is the case because the vet tech told me I would be charged for meds that was already included in the puppy package. I explained to her I shouldn’t be charged for it. I give her my card and she still goes and charges for them. I have to call and talk to someone who agrees that I was overcharged and then go through the refunding process.

I brought in my dog for testing because she was sick. I was concerned for her so when they told that the results would be ready by the next day I was waiting for the call. No call so I called them. I was told the vet is out for the day so I couldn’t get the results.

I guess the final straw was when my card was charged almost $600 in fees and I was not told what the total was before they charged my card so I could at least be given the chance to ask questions. Admittedly I didn’t ask thinking it was going to be $300. I was way off and looking at the bill I was not sure what the charges were. A lesson I will take away from this…ALWAYS ASK FOR THE TOTAL. I called and asked for explanation of certain charges. One for example is the cardboard cat crate. I wish I was at least warned that I would be charged for one. They just brought it out. They say the vet explained what was happening but I don’t know what that means when it comes down to billing.

I noticed on my pet’s records, statements were being recorded. That is fine but I also don’t think the statements were accurate. Didn’t care to go into detail about my complaints and why I was making them. I almost feel like it was written in a way that made me seem like I was exaggerating the issues I had dealt with at that vet clinic. No other statements were included. No statements about the email I sent when I was upset about the issue with getting test results when my dog was sick and was told the vet was not in for the day. I was also told by a Nichol’s employee that they agreed that the delay of results was not ok.

I was so excited to be going to Nichol’s vet clinic and, at first, it was great. I even told others about the clinic and have friends that take their pets to Nichol’s. Now I am not sure if I should have recommended this place. I just hope you take my concerns seriously and address them so for at least my friends who do still go to your clinic can have a good experience.

Doctors and assistants take incredibly thoughtful and effective care of my rescue dog suffering from bad allergies and elderly ailments. With fair pricing for patient oriented and intelligently proscribed treatment plans, they put forth considerate and consistent effort above and beyond my expectations to urgently restore my dog to good health whenever I bring her in.

Would not see my dog after she suffered a devastating brain
Injury. Told me “sorry we can’t see her until Jan 26th”. Had her in Vet Er on Jan 15 with head injury. Needs meds and follow up but these people can’t fit us in. Have to take her back to ER and find a caring vet. Less than 0 stars. My hope is my Tinkerbell recovers. No thanks to Nichols

Got a same day appointment and was very pleased with the entire process. Our Dog was examined and treated for an eye infection for a shockingly affordable price. Thanks for the great care of our pet. Highly recommend.

The best place in town for boarding. My dog can be difficult sometimes but he is always excited to see the staff. This is a testament to their great service and care of the animals they board.

Wonderful and caring vet who knows a lot about rats, which is a godsend in this area. Staff are so kind and always make my little guys feel very loved. Would recommend Dr. Nichols to anyone with an exotic pet! Thank you soooo much!

I think I finally found my local vet. I have been trying different ones in the monterey County area and have been disappointed at all of them until intried Nichols vet. They were so helpful and informative. They have an authentic passion for animals that made me feel safe when taking my dog. They set my pup up with a great regimen to not only fix the symptoms but to address the cause. I highly recommend this spot.

I just moved to the area and my pup got sick. They were incredibly helpful, responsive and so professional sweet to my very scared pup during the visit. I would recommend this vet to everyone! 10/10.

When I needed care for my kitten, I was referred to Nichols. Sandy answered my call and was wonderful to speak with. She was professional, compassionate and helpful. They're highly impacted, have limited appointments available and we're not able to see my kitten that week, which I completely understood.

Sandy took the time to followup with me the next day to offer me something sooner and encouraged me to check-in in the case of late cancels.

I didn't not have the pleasure of fully working with Nichols but my experience calling-in was definitely reassuring and pleasant. Thank you Sandy!

Since moving to Monterey back in June, I haven't needed to take my dog to a vet, but around 9pm last night our poor pup developed symptoms of a UTI. I think I got maybe 2 hours of sleep bc she kept whining to be let out all night. I was searching for local vet office frantically through the night. I called Nichols Veterinarian Care right when they opened and they got us in right away!

I had Dr. Samantha Martin as my dogs vet today and she was WONDERFUL. I couldn't go inside bc of COVID rules, but she called me and was so personable and I really felt listened to and that she really cared for my dog. My dog doesn't get along with other dogs at all, so they kept her behind the desk with them and (sounds like) spoiled her with attention and treats. Dr. Martin gave me many treatment options and the costs up front. They also have a 10% military discount.

I'm so heartbroken we'll be moving soon bc I wish she could be my dog's permanent vet.

Everyone was so wonderful there.

If you have a pet and looking for a Vet, I can't recommend them enough.

My husband and I were visiting Monterey with our 2 little Chihuahua mix dogs. One of them - Polar Bear - appeared to have been bitten by a tick and showed some symptoms of Lyme disease. The person who answered the phone was so kind and although the schedule was full, she got an open time for a visit that very day. For exam and treatment, Dr Allies was very, very helpful. She examined Polar Bear, took blood, removed the tick, prescribed medication, etc.and kept in touch by phone with my husband and me as we waited in the car (due to Covid restrictions). Thankfully our dog was able to come home with us and is now back to her normal, playful self! We really appreciate everyone at this veterinary office whom we saw or who helped us that day. Thank you very much!
