Nick The Greek reviews
17 Update: January 2,2024 visit:
Perfect place for a quick bite to eat. Friendly service! Healthy options. Vegetarian options.
My husband ordered the lamb gyro plate, and I ordered the falafel bowl. My bowl was delicious and quite filling! My husband gobbled up his gyro lamb plate.
Clean place. Clean restrooms, gender neutral.
Reasonable prices.
Nothing fancy, but it is all good!

We loved this place! We needed a quick bite to eat before driving home. I ordered the falafel pita and my husband ordered the gyro plate/ combo with fries and a drink. We were both very full and satisfied! I wanted to try their Greek Yogurt for dessert, but I was too full. Next time I will save room. The interior is very clean and so is their bathroom. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone in the mood for Greek Food. We sat inside the air conditioned restaurant. There are few tables to sit down and eat, but there is also a large outdoor eating area at this time. Most of the restaurants during the pandemic have extended their seating onto Main Street which is pedestrian only. I sure hope the City of Ventura will keep Main street like this! It makes Main Street feel so cheery and festive!
We got the lamb bowls and it was all lettuce and rice pretty much. My husbands bowl literally had three pieces of meat. And honestly the food quality is comparable to taco bell. Very packaged and microwaved taste. Fries also have no salt and seem like they were previously frozen. If you want some good lamb gyros, go to Santa Cruz market. They hook it up and it is so fresh. I was sad we spent our money on this place
Got a chicken souvlaki bowl and some of the chicken was raw. Stopped eating once i noticed.hopefully i don’t get sick
Loved it, in Ventura Beach location, Manager was super friendly while training new staff food was bomb highly recommended
Tried the Falafel wrap and it was actually really good. I've had a lot of falafel over the years and this one is good to go. The bread reminds me of the bread used in the Chalupa from Taco Bell, which is a good thing because it's the best texture and flavor combined I think.
Great food, Beef and Lamb bowl is Bomb. Tables outside and main street, Definitely one of my favorites
The Greek yogurt is actually Greek yogurt and the taziki is actually taziki. Nuff said. Thanks for great food AND service was super fast too. 5 stars.
Great hole in the wall! Definitely try the Nick’s fries! An order of fries is sufficient serving size for 2!
Staff was super calm and friendly, very accommodating of any order modification requests (which I must say we had plenty of)!
Food quality, quantity, and price we all great! Very fresh and good quality ingredients
Getting dinner at this restaurant was spectacular. The atmosphere was very nice and the restaurant was clean and not too busy. We got baklava, frozen yogurt, and gyro bowls. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly and sweet. I have also come here after the fair to get the greek frozen yogurt, which is amazing. Overall a great experience!
This restaurant is great and they make some of the best fries available downtown
the baklava is also excellent and ofc the kebab meat is always tender and juicy.overall great experience
Overall great food, service and atmosphere.
I ordered two beef/lamb gyro, one order of fries and two drinks. It came out to a total of $32.76 which seems steep until I saw the enormous amount of fries they put in the basket. They actually put some extra fries in my gorgeous gfs basket too which was nice. (Im assuming they cooked too many)
The young lady at the register, I’m assuming was new because the lady was still training her, was very nice, greeted us with a smile and was welcoming.
The food came out within 10 min, was hot and full of flavor. The gyro meat was succulent and savory. It was accompanied by the crips onion and zesty tatziki sauce which balanced perfectly. The fries were also very fresh and well seasoned. Overall great experience I would definitely come back here maybe with a few friends to take advantage of their weekly specials and beers.
Not a lot of food for the prices. We ordered the beef/lamb plate and mostly got fries and an obnoxious about of bread. Gyro sandwich came with fries in the sandwich…. Only offer Pepsi products. Tables are sticky inside. Fries that came with the plate were soggy. Was excited to try this place, but it seems things have taken a turn here.
Too expensive. Like I am personally responsible for the greek debt crisis. Virtually no meat. No customers either. I give these guys 90 days or its a money laundering front.
So yummy! I would highly recommend. We loved the gyros and the desserts were good too. A little pricey for the casual atmosphere but the flavors are worth it. It's fun to be on main street too and great that the city has kept the street closed to cars so there is still plenty of outside dining available.
Overall the food was pretty good. However it was pretty pricy. A BIG TIP if you’re planning on getting the gyro plate ($16.50+), I highly recommend just getting the kids meal plate because it is SO MUCH CHEAPER (less than $10) and it’s literally served on the same tray! It has about the same amount of meat and the exact same number of pita bread pieces. The only difference is that a regular plate has a tiny salad.
If you want a hearty lunch/dinner, GET THE KIDS MEAL!
Food was yummy, but bathroom smelled putrid.
Anyways I will be coming back, but will be ordering the kids meal:)
Just discovered this place yesterday, and I can't recommend it enough. I live in camarillo and would drive there for the next greek kind of craving. They have several options and we tried a lot. It was all great!
The beef and lamb gyros are delicious. My wife and I really enjoyed them. The garlic fries were good, but garlic flavor was very strong.
