Nijiya Market reviews
27 This is right in the heart of Little Tokyo in DTLA so it can get pretty busy with people. Nonetheless, it has all your Japanese needs for the most part from pre-made meals to produce and more!
I got some produce that they had a deal on enoki mushrooms (long thin white mushrooms) and an onigiri for my trip back home. The onigiri was pretty inexpensive for about $2. However, definitely a whole lot of rice compared to the filling. Still okay though for a cheap snack.
There's a whole bunch of shops and restaurants nearby too that are opening up. So, it is getting pretty crowded, but they are limiting inside occupancy for the moment.
Good market. Variety of fresh foods made and good selection of snacks. Definitely will come back again.
Just to add to what everyone already knows this place is amazing. I ordered "the sandwich" and although basic, it is pure heaven.
It's a great marketplace with a little bit of Japanese culture mixed in. They sell my favorite ice tea there so I'm pretty happy.
Very long line, make sure you willing to stand overy an hour in line. However, it is worth the wait.
Tiny location to pick up groceries and more! The physical space for the store is small, but it's jam packed with stuff! Produce is super fresh. There's a tiny section for ready made meals. There are large selections of candy, chips, and all sorts of other junk foods! They also have a wide range of candy toys (boxes of toys, art cards, figurines that come with a piece of candy) from tons of different popular anime series.
Nice selection of packaged, take away and produce. Gets crowded around lunch. They also partially validate parking if you buy $10 worth of merchandise
A little pricey but to be expected for tourist area. Good selection of drinks, candy, and teas.
The employees were very helpful when I was looking for a specific item and they had a wide variety of products overall a great experience
Fresh "deli" items: 20% discount starting around 4 pm during weekdays or around 5-6 pm on weekends
A must-go for all essentials for cooking. Japan-grown rice, unagi from Japan, all kinds of ingredients for cooking and powders for making sweets, as well as ready-made onigiri, bento, croquettes, etc for lunches. Good snack, cakes, mochi selection as well. I came every weekend for a while.
Good deals on snacks but some of them are cheaper in Daiso. Also the only "free" to use restroom at the plaza, just pretend you are buying something.
Very similar selections to Japanese convenience stores. You can get a discount on the small meals later in the day as well.
The smallest one out of all supermarkets in Nijiya chain I’ve been to. Prices are the same in each location, but selection is really poor in this one (that is why only 3 stars)
This is the smallest of the Nijiya stores. It is located in the Japanese Village of Little Tokyo. Despite its small size, you can find many hard to find Japanese foods, drinks, and desert items there. Ask for Parking when you pay on the way out.
So many things I want to buy here. Every time I go here I want to try something new, I love this market.
Great little market with fresh produce and most everything you need for Japanese cooking. Checkout line not too long. Easy to find in the village shopping area. Staff very helpful and will find what you need.
This market inside Japanese Village in LA's Little Tokyo is a gem of a market. With everything from produce, meats, seafood and sushi, to packaged dried foods and candies.it is a cornucopia of Japanese foodstuffs. There is also a decent if somewhat small selection of goods like chopsticks, cups and bowls. Prices are fair and staff are friendly.
It's great to find a authentic Japanese food but a lot of it is only in Japanese so you kind of really have to know what you're looking for before going in so I get bone broth and like goodies there like the chips or the Pokey sticks seaweed sheets that my son loves so yeah when you go you need to really know what you're looking for or take somebody that can translate the information for you
