It was my first time interfacing with a skilled nursing facility. Mom went here after broken hip. The insurance was trying to put my mom somewhere else and after doing research and visiting other facilities we advocated for her to come here. Staff bent over backwards to help and she was in good shape when she left. She said the staff treated her well and her meals were good. It's a smaller facility and has nice surroundings. Medicare tried to kick my mom out early and the staff went to bat to make sure she could continue her stay a little longer. The care team was quite comprehensive. And they had actually been there for a while which is amazing since these places tend to have high turnover. Note: if you are recovering, you get out what you put in. It's important if your loved one is in one of these facilities to make sure they are working with the PT to get better. You as a family member or friend also need to partner with the care team to ensure the best outcome. I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The facility is bright and clean, and there are activities for folks. It is being renovated. The goal is to really get better and they are effective at doing that, but you have to cooperate and put some effort into it. Mom's goal was to get better and work to not stay any longer than necessary. I would recommend to anyone who is recovering from a serious injury.
