Nimbus Flat State Recreation Area reviews
15Ample paid State Park parking. Decent restrooms. Kayak launch ramp! Easy American River Bike Trail access. Ranger monitored parking access helps with vehicle security.
Love this spot. Paid parking at the park, plenty of parking. Beach area, boat launch, great spot for paddle boarding, swimming, kite surfing, kayaking, etc.
'21/11 1st review, but handful of visits over past 25 years:
- $10 to park (ranger kiosk attendant takes credit cards). No available street parking or otherwise.
- Large paved boat parking/launch as enter with equally large vehicle parking.
- Freestanding, solid structure public restrooms.
- Immediate access to multi-use (paved & unpaved trails to go for MILES in both directions).
- Well worth a days adventure to hang out, hike, bike, boat, paddle board, kayak.
Went paddle boarding with my Aunt and my dog, e eryone was very friendly. A community vibe. Lake was beautiful, nice little coves to relax in and hand your hammock.
Great place to kayak. $10 entry fee. Nice boat ramp and dock to slip in the kayaks.
Recommend for anyone local who loves to paddle board or Kayak.
Very peaceful and relaxing and walk there it's like you're walking on a Rocky trail and then there it is just beautiful water
Very clean place all the people were nice had a wonderful time I'm going to be there in the next couple weeks
Pretty nice park with a good view of the hills. Easy access just of of highway 50 & Hazel Ave. There’s an extensive trail system both paved & dirt for running, riding, hiking, or whatever. There’s a beach and picnic tables with BBQ’s. They also have water and flushing bathrooms. The boat ramp is great for launching you SUP, paddle board, kayaks, or small sailboat. There’s a $10 day use fee or you can buy the annual Poppy Pass for $120 and come all year. Across the water is the Aquatic center where you can rent SUP’s, kayaks, and sail boats. There’s separate parking for the Aquatic Center. I have been here many, many times, and will be back. Highly recommend.
Nice place to start a bicycle ride on the bike trails, have a picnic or kayak!
The restrooms are usually clean too!
You must pay the CA Park entrance fee though
This place was a such a surprise! I've lived here in Sacramento my whole life and never knew it was there. My husband and I took our granddaughter. Everything was so nice and clean and although there were a lot of people and parking was scarce, once we got to the beach area there was plenty of room for us to find a nice spot and there were so many nice families there. We will make this a regular thing and my husband hasn't stopped telling all his buddies about it.
What a great place. There are plenty of shade trees and plenty of parking (if you get there early). Its wonderful to relax and float in the water. Nice walking trails to.
It was really crowded. The water was the warmest that I have seen in a decade. Must be the drought.
Beautiful, great parking next to beach. Good for all non motor water craft, swimming in cool water. Nice easy two mile swim this afternoon.
Swimming area blocked off would be nice to be apart from the "boarders" Give them 3 or 4 smaller areas to enter the water.
Pretty dry, not much green.
Good for getting a tan.if you don’t bring your supplies, tent, chairs, kayak then there’s not much to do except sit and contemplate your life
