NINE-TEN Restaurant & Bar reviews
19Food, service and ambiance were great. Scallop was delicious, melted in my mouth.chicken and desert also one of the best. Great experience all together ️.
We did a chefs menu with wine pairing and the selection was
Excellent! Eric the Manager was very kind to give us an inside table at the chance of rain. The whole staff were kind. Definitely recommend for date night.
I thought I would be adventurous and tried the grilled octopus salad. It was very tasty and not crazy exotic. And the homemade sourdough bread was phenomenal. I left my business card in hopes of a call if they someday do sourdough pancakes for their breakfast menu.
Slow disinterested service. Waiter consistently forgot what was ordered so had to repeat requests every 10-15 minutes. Water never refilled without a few requests either. Food was very good, but I wouldn’t recommend dining here unless you’re at the hotel. Valet was the only good service in the place. Best to spend money somewhere with professional staff if you want a nice meal out.
Eric and Veronica at the front desk are rude and make the entire experience unbearable. With a baby and getting to the restaurant on time they stated they had to seat 5-6 tables before us and it would take 30 minutes to seat them. Not sure how it takes 30 minutes to seat 5 parties, should take 1 minute. I would have been happy to seat myself, but instead Eric and Veronica wanted to ruin the night for everyone. Opposite of what you want when you dine out to relax. Total opposite. They should be let go, host staff being nice is important for a restaurant and the fact that they are still working means management is horrendous. Shame on them.
I always stay at the Grande Colonial when visiting La Jolla, but this my first time dining here. The service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was GREAT. Best Scallops ever. Will definitely be back!
I can’t believe I lived in San Diego, my whole life and just went to this restaurant for my first time. This place is a true hidden gem with phenomenal food, an amazing wine list, and great service. Chris was our waiter and he’s also the house sommelier. He was extremely knowledgeable and walked through the entire dining experience. We ordered an amazing bottle of burgundy as well as a bottle of Bordeaux. The food was ethereal. Not only did it look beautiful, but the flavors were amazing. I had a ribeye with a pomegranate sauce that was out of this world. My wife had these perfect scallops. We went with some friends, and everyone was blown away. We will definitely be back.
I came here on a weeknight around sunset and set out on the balcony. There was a great view and you could see the sunset. The wait staff was attentive and the food was pricey but excellent.
Enjoyed our meal here. Portions are fairly small in light of cost, but everything was very flavorful. Relatively small menu, so check first to see if anything appeals to you, but then rest assured that the food will be excellent.
Went here on a weekday evening for some drinks. Bartender was very attentive and welcoming.
Wish there were food available on more days here, but great spot for a nice drink if you're roaming around downtown LJ.
We came in to celebrate a 15 year wedding anniversary and tried the Mercy of the Chef tasting. So glad we did because every course was sequenced perfectly and was a beautiful medley of flavors. I paired this with a wine pairing which was hand picked by the Sommelier and was an exquisite compliment to each dish.
I loved the low key, non pretentious atmosphere. Simple and understated elegance which let the fine service and food speak more loudly.
My husband and I live close and will be back again soon!
As always, everything was perfect. We’ve been going to Nine Ten for fourteen years; it never disappoints. Consistently, One of the best restaurants in San Diego.
The personal taking the phone were very rude because they have weekend booked and did not gave me an alternative and just literally hung the phone on me 2 times on a roll. Did let me finish my words
We were at Nine Ten for Restaurant Week. We did the 3 course with wine paring. EVERYTHING was beyond our expectations. Our server Greg was very knowledgeable and professional. The chefs parings and presentation was spot on. We will highly recommend Nine Ten to everyone we know. We are in from Tucson, and we will be back.
Got so caught up in my amazing breakfast, I forgot to take a photo until I was almost done! Perfect bacon, fresh berry jam, it was all absolutely perfect! Lovely patio on a warm morning with fresh ocean breezes!
We have been coming here for years. We have always enjoyed the mercy of the chef. When I booked for tonight, it said that the cost was $120 per person (50% increase from before), which included all fees and service charges. When we got the bill it was $120 per person plus a surcharge plus a 20% service charge. In addition, while everything was very good, the variety and quality is not what it was. Unfortunately it will be a long time before I come back
Came here for the tasting menu for our wedding anniversary. Just visiting here in San Diego for a couple of months and we usually like to try out tasting menus in different places. For the price per head, the food didn't really live up to our expectations. It was good, but not that creative, and didn't feel like an "experience" so much. We've had $50/head tasting menus in NYC that were so much better.
Service was great though, and the staff was really friendly.
The salmon melts in your mouth. The jerk chicken has a kick. The potatoes taste like they really came from the earth. Everything was great.
I had heard about this restaurant multiple times and was finally able to check it out. You definitely need a reservation even in the middle of the week because the restaurant isn't exceptionally large and it's popular. The inside was classically designed and elegant.
Service was excellent, and we happen to go on Wednesday when bottles of wine are half price. We decided to go with a bottle, and we ordered the duck and the striped bass for our entrees.
We also got the tuna crudo which was incredible, as well as the Napoletano dessert which was top five desserts I've ever had at a restaurant. It had an incredible blend of textures and flavors that wasn't too sweet but incredibly dynamic and unique.
Absolutely go again. With the appetizer, to entrees and a dessert plus a half-price bottle of wine, after tip it was around $215 for two of us. Well worth it.
