Did a grub hub delivery order and found this place incredibly overpriced for what I received. The portion was significantly smaller than other ramen spots I’ve ordered from. Will not be ordering $22 ramen from here again.

Kristen was so nice and was so fun to talk too, she got us in super kick! The food was amazing we got the vegan ramen with the vegan chicken and woah there was so much flavor! 1000% recommend!

Nishiki Ramen, the quintessential restaurant in San Diego, transports its guests on a unique gastronomic journey. Known for its delicious ramen bowls, Nishiki captivates palates with intense broths, perfectly textured noodles, and a harmony of fresh, local ingredients. An authentic and unforgettable feast.

Starting with the best part:
The sauces and foods at Nishiki Ramen are amazing. I tried 2 bowls while there:
The Vegetarian Curry Bowl and the Chicken Bowl. The Curry Sauce Nishiki is one of the best I have tasted anywhere, and I have tasted a lot in Southern CA. I loved the broth in my chicken ramen before the world's hottest Death Sauce add-in.

The death sauce chile-oil add-in has strong tastes of the ghost chile so if you love the smoky flavor of a ghost chile you will like the death sauce add-in in your broth though I will say it does overpower the original taste of the broth, I recommend tasting your broth before and after.

The Okonomi sauce that comes with the chicken katsu appetizer might be one of the best condiments in San Diego. I recommend the sweet, tangy, gingery, Okonomi experience to anyone willing to try it.

Regarding service, while the staff were professional, I did not get many smiles nor a feeling I was welcomed at the restaurant, which was disappointing. Kenny was our server, and he was both sweet and accommodating as I got my ramen with no noodles and extra cabbage.

CULINARY PRO TIP:
One if my relatives ordered a fish cake in her chicken Ramen and the fish cake changed the flavor of the broth to something unenjoyable, we ended up ordering her a Chicken Curry Ramen instead, a pro tip being, order some add-ins on the side as they will change the taste of your dish.

My family and I plan on eating here again, and I think you will enjoy your experience as well if you like Japanese ramen.

The little plastic cup is the Death Sauce in my photos.

Came at 11am for some ramen and saw they weren’t open yet so we waited for 20 minutes in case they were a few minutes behind. Decided to leave when we realized even after waiting, they were still not open.

It's a cozy little ramen shop with attentive servers and management that ensures everything comes out just right for your visit.

The store may seem slightly bare atmosphere wise but that's not going to get in the way of the great food they serve here.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Akuma ramen.
It's full of flavor, spicy, and with a couple of soft boiled eggs perfectly cooked makes the whole meal worth what you come for.

Food is MID. Takoyaki is also far from authentic. Horrible service. Was literally rushed out after I finished eating. I kid you not, Right after I finished my last bite and put my chopsticks down immediately the waitress came right to my table with the check. It’s like she teleported over. I told her give me a few minutes, I just finished eating. About two minutes passed, she came over and slapped the bill on my table. Mind you, this is during noon where there is only two tables here right now. Why am I being rushed out? If you were busy I would understand. Unacceptable behavior and horrible customer service. Do not recommend this establishment.

This place slaps. Hands down the best Ramen in San Diego. My favorite thing is the spicy Vegan. It has a creamy spicy broth with veggies and mock duck… omg the best. My husband likes the smoke bomb black which is also unique and delicious. If you haven’t already definitely give them a try

Love love love their vegan spicy ramen, and my partner loves the curry vegetarian ramen. So delicious! Sometimes we go on a binge and have it a few days in a row!

Simple place with amazing ramen. Prices are avg for San Diego. I love the smoke bomb ans my partner gets the Notorious GGG, both are amazing. Lots of veggie and Vegan options on the menu! Gyoza is amazingly perfectly crisp deep fried. Karaage chicken is hit or miss but still 5 stars bc it's SO good when it's on, and it was pretty busy the one time it was mediocre.

They have an automatic 15% gratuity which I like bc it means you get real service and not people sucking up to you for tips. I really like this place! It's not usually crowded in the late afternoon.

Very good ramen, came out super fast. The chicken karage was good. Service was impeccable. Free parking behind.

It’s a vibe! The food (shoutout to the chefs), the staff (special shoutout to Ms Kristen who made a 12-hr shift look like light weight; promote her) and the whole atmosphere (kudos to everyone on the team). A very enjoyable overall experience!

The tonkotsu ramen was on point and one of the best I’ve tasted in SD county! I highly recommend this establishment for your Japanese cuisine cravings. Oishii desu yo!

Heavy on the ginger, which is a weird ingredient to add to ramen. I keep forgetting to ask them not to add it. Expensive, but it's really cool that they are a "no tipping" restaurant. The chashu is pork belly style vs authentic burrito (they do this because it's simply easier and less expensive). I can't fault them too much for this because I haven't found another place in San Diego that does chashu properly. I also found it really hard to separate the noodles, they come as a huge ball.

The Tongotsu broth was on point today. So creamy and deep flavour. The best bowl of ramen I have had in a long time. My ONLY critique is that the pork belly was cut too thin and could have used some more seasoning.

They don't currently have a gluten free menu! Was told that they're working on bringing one back though. (Sep/2023)

Average taste ramen. Liked the brith and the spice in it but not so much the pork or the noodles.
