Nomadness Rentals, Mammoth Lakes CA

Do NOT let Nomadness install a Dormakaba door lock on your door. I had to pay $750 for this and after parting ways you will spend weeks trying to get control of the lock. The company that makes the locks (Oracode/Dormakaba) is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. The IRS is easier to navigate. Nomadness just leaves it to you to try and get control of the lock.

We had a wonderful time at the Mammoth house. My husband and I and a few friends spent the weekend there, and enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable and the owners were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a great experience with Nomadness Rental Co. And would book again with no hesitation. Very responsive staff, units very clean and user friendly. Just bring your clothes!

We've rented in Mammoth for at least 20 years, using a variety of management companies. Nomadness is the best: responsive, helpful, pleasant. We'll be happy to work with them in the future.

The worst ski rental we have ever experienced. We booked a ski-in ski-out chalet through them about 2 months in advance of our stay. Halfway on the drive up from LA, we received a text saying that the private spa / hot tub (which is part of the headline/title of the property listing) is broken, but they working to fix it. It ended up not working for the entire 4 nights and I found out through the maintenance guy that it had in fact been broken for over 6 weeks, which conflicted with the reasoning of the management rep who said it was a freak accident due to weather that recently happened. We would have never driven up if we were told that was not gonna work, especially for the price we were paying. And this is just the beginning.

The ski-in/ski-out wasn't actually a thing since they made no effort the shovel any of the snow. They told us that it was again "a freak accident due to the snow". Odd, because all of the neighbors were not caved in with snow. On our last day of skiing, they finally sent someone with a shovel. He asked if we still wanted it to be shoveled even though it was already 12pm. We told him we would and that it was pretty disappointing this wasn't done 4 days ago. He responded (not exaggerating), "or you guys can just drive to the mountain like everyone else". Wow. After we spent over $5,000 for 4 nights in this "ski-in/ski-out" chat.

And the kitchen seemed like it hadn't had a deep clean in a while, the downstairs living room entertainment wasn't working, the heater didn't work in one of the rooms, the dummy waiter was broken, the grill in the kitchen wasn't working, and the master bath took around 2 hours to fill up.

After lots of back and forth, they offered to refund us $500, but since we spent $5k and most of the title in the listing wasn't actually offered (eg.the hot tub and ski-in/ski-out access), I felt like that was insulting. They wouldn't budge (they did bring us chocolate upon our checkout as an apology). We literally wouldn't have driven up had we known these issues (which they definitely knew beforehand). This constitutes borderline fraudulent.

Long story short, don't ever book a stay with them. Or at least not directly like we did to save some money. A third party like Airbnb would have definitely sided with us. We are currently disputing the charge with Chase.

We stayed at the St. Moritz in Mammoth Lakes and our time there was great. The complex is located very close to shops, restaurants and a quick drive to several hiking spots.

Our stay was great with Nomadness Rentals, below is our review of the property, I found the rental company to be super quick to respond and helpful.

What an amazing property! To summarize, it was fantastic, if not for the unique layout, this home would have been absolutely perfect.

Views out of every room, you can see Mammoth Mountain, Old Mammoth Rock, the sunset and the neighborhood. The layout- if you have someone in your party that is adverse to stairs, please know there are two full bedrooms downstairs. You can enter the home through the front door which is a large set of stairs, or you can go through the garage which is what we did. Only two stairs to those downstairs bedrooms. The primary bedroom is upstairs with a primary suite, powder room, kitchen and family room.

Garage fit my Toyota Tundra (with a bike rack) and could have fit another car. There is an electric car charger with Tesla plug. Driveway fits two cars, then there are two guest spots *just* outside the house. The community is quiet and my kids could ride their bikes around with ease.

The kitchen was fully stocked and since the house is newer, everything was fully functional. You have pots, pans, full sets of knives and cooking utensils. Everything was very clean. Kitchen table fit everyone with ease. They have a smart TV and you can log in to see all of your apps. Wifi worked as well as Mammoth wifi does.

AIR CONDITIONING! A life saver for the summer, it's a zoned unit so you can cool either floor independent of the other. This is a game changer for Mammoth. We also used the laundry on the first floor.

We loved this house!

First off, if you have issues with stairs or have little ones who don't know how to navigate stairs.this isn't the place for you. But if you don't mind stairs then this is a great place! The neighborhood is lovely! With a walking path super close with stunning views. Each room* of the house is on a different floor, so we got our exercise in, but we had a great time hanging out here. Super comfy and cozy vibes.
Loved seeing deer on our front lawn. And the little ones enjoyed the house and walking the neighborhood. It's close it everything and the hosts were super accommodating to letting us check in early and out late.

This was the 2nd time for us staying at this fabulous, dog friendly place! It's right in the new village, and the pool and jacuzzies are surrounded by the view of the beautiful mountains. We coudn't ask for better bedding or living room/sleeper sofa set up. Access to the Nomadness staff was immediate, and they went out of their way to make sure our stay was as fantastic as last time. This will be our yearly get away for the next several years and we wouldn't dream of staying somewhere else!

We had a great experience with their very family friendly condo rentals at mammoth lakes! Property was clean, communication was excellent and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Mouse poop on beds when we arrived.place was very dated. Area rugs ought to be replaced.company response about the mice issue was 'sorry to hear about it'

Hannah and the team at Nomadness Rentals were very thorough from booking to our stay. Our unit was beyond expectations and made for a memorable Holiday trip.
