North Bay Animal Services reviews
15I called them last week about a dog who has been kept in a cage in a garage for a year or more. I walked by the house and could hear the dog crying. I called them 3 times in 2 days and was told each time that an animal control officer would call me. I never heard from anyone. How many other calls about animals in distress are completely ignored?
I adopted the sweetest dog and the staff was very friendly especially Bella. They made the process simple
Animal hoarding situations going on multiple years in the city of Clearlake. A city that they have a 375k dollar contract with. They do nothing to address the problems. They ignore phone calls from people asking for help and pretend like everything is okay. Try to hold them accountable for their lack of support for the community and they block you on social media. Disgustingly mismanaged, incompetent leadership.
We fell in love with a wonderful sweet kitty! The staff and team of volunteers welcomed us warmly and offered support and information. A forever home was offered and adoption application was completed and approved. How very lucky we are, our Home and Hearts are full with our new family addition.
Thank-you to everyone!
Many fur family members are looking forward to meeting you and if hearts meet a forever home awaits.
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with North Bay Animal Services, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. My intention was to find a loving companion and provide a forever home for a deserving animal, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of my expectations.
First and foremost, the staff (bella and others) at North Bay Animal Services displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and empathy. When I arrived, I was met with indifference and a dismissive attitude. The staff appeared disinterested, unhelpful, and seemed to lack any genuine passion for the well-being of the animals in their care. Their lack of knowledge and unwillingness to answer my questions left me feeling frustrated and unsupported.
Furthermore, the adoption process was unnecessarily convoluted and discouraging. The staff seemed more interested in scrutinizing potential adopters than finding suitable homes for the animals. I encountered an excessive amount of red tape, bureaucratic hurdles, and a seemingly arbitrary decision-making process that left me feeling bewildered and rejected.
Overall, my experience with North Bay Animal Services was disheartening and deeply troubling.i wish nothing but the best to future pet owners but from any other places.
This place is a joke. The ringmaster of this circus (Mark) is the most unprofessional, selfish, and conniving excuse of an "employer" that I've ever encountered. He'd be better off working at a high school with the way he "manages" his posse of young girls to be petty little monsters. One star for the poor animals being neglected while he continuously gets smacked with lawsuits and unjustly fires employees that disagree with his antics. Great job weaseling your way into a community like Clearlake that already suffers from a major lack of genuine resources just to continue perpetuating harm and dishonesty on the locals that have been here for decades
As I was calling around in search of an appointment for spaying our newly adopted rescue, I was blessed by a wonderful conversation with the gentleman who answered the phone here. I wish I would have asked his name but he was friendly and interested in the story about our rescue even though she was adopted from ABC rescue in Lafayette. Just want to say thanks for the friendly interaction!
So many things. The price to get a dog out of jail was over $200. They had little to no information or help for low/no income people.
Severely understaffed. The people there care a lot and you can tell they just want what's best for the animals but boy'howdy do they need some serious help. Parking is nearly non-existent so good luck finding a place to park. Be nice to the staff; they're doing their best.
This place is awful. I called them 4 hours ago about 4 dogs left locked in an abandoned home and have still not heard back. It's over 95 degrees here.
I called about a month ago about a dog locked in a truck in Safeway parking lot in the heat and no one ever showed.
I am in Clearlake. Give us back our local Animal Control. I have seen so many loose dogs since these people took over our area.
They're just useless.
And forget about paying for a license for your dog, they cash your check, and never send it to you.
Charging people to give them their dogs back? Shame on you. Absolutely ridiculous. Don’t accept lost pets then. Period.
How is this place allowed to be a shelter My sister fostered for them and the dog had worms and a tick! Even though they said the dog had been at the shelter for about three months. The dog is also going into heat for the third time and North Bay does NOT return our calls. She has been paying for this dog from day one. Food and dewormer and diapers for every time this dog goes in heat. What the kind of place is this! Going to just fix the dog and be done with these people
The one time I need to adopt, they refused for over a year, with out any details of why, turns out it was someone I had a conflict with, so as it goes my punishment, and they didn't left a finger as was true or false, toodle to you.
We adopted a cat over a year ago and promised she would be spayed, day after day mouth after mouth all we have received is a bunch of lip service. They have canceled twice with no phone calls B. S.
We adopted Ziggy he's a little 3-year-old Pitbull he is awesome the staff there is great and they love the animals
