This is how a dog and cat rescue should be done. They, the SPCA Staff, care adopting and are sweet, kind, funny, informative, and are there for all pets and visitors. There are none so well tuned to their responsibility as the SPCA staff and in my opinion are far superior to any shelter for 40 miles arounnd, that I've been in contact with.

This tablet this SPCA go out of their way to help families with their pets. They REALLY do go over and above, and it is SO APPRECIATED. Great job, Oroville SPCA, you guys really are AWESOME! Thank you.

There are simply too many animals you should be honest with the public on the damage that happens due to overpopulation and stop trying to hide it. There are far too many. Do you see the intake lists posted on 530 pages? Keep up with all of those faces and tell me how many you see in the adoption floor. If you were honest, the public might think twice about breeding their pet or being irresponsible with their unaltered pets. Please educate people and work with people! Don’t let them adopt if they aren’t fit for the animal keep the animal in mind too. I think adopting is wonderful and fostering but we need to educate more please! It’s not their fault overpopulation is so bad. But why not tell the truth?

In late 2019 early 2020 this shelter had my dog. By contacting the microchip company to report that my dog was lost, I found out that this SPCA had my dog. I was told that they tried to reach out to me, but I never received any call or any voicemails. By the time I found out this information and contacted Northwest, I was told that they had already given him to a rescue (thank goodness). The reasoning (PER THE RESCUE GROUP) was that NORTHWEST was full, which meant they would probably would have euthanized my dog if he wasn’t pulled from their shelter. When I called Northwest to get answers on my dogs whereabouts, I was told that they would not give me the name of or any information about the rescue group they gave my dog to because of LEGAL reasons…EVEN THOUGH MY NAME WAS REGISTERED TO MY DOGS MICROCHIP. Up until a few days ago, I had spent 3 YEARS looking for my dog, and posting through Facebook groups hoping that miraculously maybe a photo of my dog would pop up. Up until a few days ago, I would check in with the microchip company to confirm that if anything had changed with the microchip (like my name being changed), I WOULD BE NOTIFIED. The microchip company never called me, emailed me, contacted me… My name was removed & replaced from my dogs microchip. Up until a few days ago, I finally found a picture and a post about my dog and where he had spent all these years…I found the rescue group and found out that my dog was rehomed. Though I am grateful of how things turned out for my dog, I will never understand why Northwest SPCA couldn’t legally give me the name of the rescue group that pulled me dog. My dog was NEVER adopted out to a person so legally there was no personal information that would have be given. My dog went to a RESCUE GROUP WHO WAS STILL LOOKING FOR A HOME FOR MY DOG at the time. The only thing they ever did that I will always be grateful to was choosing to give my dog to that rescue.

Great experience adopting a Dog and Cat, however, we found a young dog and could not find the owners and have 3 dogs already. I had my daughter take the dog to the SPCA figuring this would be the best bet for him and my and they treated her like a criminal.absolutely made her feel like the worst person ever for bringing in a found dog. They should be ashamed of how they treat people sometimes and keep there attitudes in check.

We rescued two new dogs here, one in February and another in May. The people that work and volunteer there are a special breed of wonderful humans.

Care about animals so much. Absolutely amazing experience as we walked through each animal. We did not adopt, but if we were able, we would adopt from here.

Called many times about a stray puppy around lunch nobody answered. Seems like people who work here care more about an early lunch than helping these animals out. What a shame.

Took quite a while for them to get to me and it wasn't that busy in there. I wasn't sure how long they've been doing the job.maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the bed I don't know

If your looking to adopt a pet this is your spot. All cats are spayed and neutered before they leave the facility! I’m not sure on dogs because I was there for a cat. All month of December adoption fees are waved so get in Now and find your forever pet
