Oakridge Inn, Oak View CA

I was invited to give a review on my stay, and after much thought, I decided I would. I have no complaints about the motel. My issue is with 1/2 of the management team.
The male half of the management team is lacking in people skills. I smoke. I obeyed all the rules posted re: motel policies. My stay was for 2 nights, and during that time, I noticed others smoking outside. The second night, I was outside on the phone with a friend and smoking. A man approached me from a distance and asked me to put out my cigarette. I didn't know who he was. I thought he was a patron at the motel. I asked if he also had a problem with the obvious smell of pot permeating the air? He then informed me he was the manager and asked me to go downstairs and smoke. I said I would, and he left. One of the stairways was only a few feet from my room and as I was walking to that stairway I realized I didn't have my shoes on so I turned around to go back and get my shoes and there he was again! At the time, I was juggling my phone, a cup with water (to put out the cigarette), the cigarette, and answering the many questions my friend was asking about what was going on) he then started yelling accusing me of "doing it my way " and threatened to throw me out. These 2 conversations took less than 5 minutes max! I was dumbfounded by his behavior. I dropped the culprit in the cup of water, and he left.
After an hour or so, I decided to go to the office. It was obvious we got off on the wrong foot. Maybe he just had a bad day? Nope. He still defended his behavior, and to insult me more, he lied about the laws that governed this establishment. He either does not know the laws or he cherry picks information about similar laws that do not apply. Regardless of the reason it is management's responsible to know.
Moral of the story is don't stay here if you smoke. If you don't smoke, good for you! Wish I had never started.

Decent hotel room, but the customer service was absolutely terrible.

As musicians, we came after our show arriving around 10: 30pm to check into our 4 pre-paid rooms. We saw the sign saying the office was closed at 10 so we called the number. No answer. Called again. No answer. So we rang the bell. No answer. Rang again. No answer. Rang again, finally the couple (owners?) came out and were VERY RUDE, saying we were “lucky” to get a room.

It’s unimaginable to me treating customers this way. Instead, I’d think a “thank you” would be in order.

I’ll never stay at this hotel again.

The truth is I'm angry with the service of the office staff. We came for a walk with my family and I brought my 3-month-old dog and they took me out of the room because they don't want dogs and at no time does it say in their rules that they don't dogs

Stayed at Oakridge Inn while at a tai chi workshop in Ojai! Hotel was clean; staff was very accommodating and friendly. They offer a small continental breakfast. Price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend to anyone with events in Ojai or Ventura as they are centrally located between the two cities.

Beautiful views of the mountains! Quiet, comfortable, staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and nice relaxing pool/spa area!

Loved our stay here! Beautiful views, my first time on this coast and they really made me feel at home. I can’t wait to be back!

Unfortunately, we made 2 business reservations here, and we're treated beyond poorly. We are electrical contractors, and arrived for our prepaid reservations after a long day in the field. Our lead installers arrived several minutes before the owner of our company did, after a 16 hour workday, and while waiting patiently in their corporate truck, the owner of the hotel came out and immediately and rudely asked our installers to leave, and frankly treated them in a very racist manor calling them "sketchy" and threatening to cancel our reservations at 10pm, late in the evening after a long day. Very unfortunate interaction.

Everyone here is great! The rooms are very clean! Definitely highly recommend and will be back every time I come visit!

ON MY WAY THERE WAS DRIVING WITH KIDS. FREEWAY GOT JAMMED. I GOT A PHONE CALL TO TELL ME TO CANCEL THE STAY THAT I HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE BECAUSE HE WAS GOING HOME.

Very clean establishment. The managers were very friendly, convenient location close to restaurants and grocery stores. Close to Lake Casitas and Downtown Ojai. Thank you for your great hospitality!

We loved this place! Super friendly and helpful people, very nice room, and a great jacuzzi. Highly recommend.

Really nice clean room with plenty of electric plugs. The only problem is the office closes at 10: 00.

Clean comfortable room. Great hot tub. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They shared a wealth of information about local places to eat and get groceries.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Andrea is the best! Great rooms, we booked 2 separate rooms and they both were very nice. Clean, convenient and friendly place to stay. Highly recommend and I will be back on my next trip from WA!

Very cute and a great location from which to explore the area. Massive bathroom in our room and a very large jacuzzi in the back perfect for chillier nights to soak road weary bones after a long road trip
