My sister in law is here and as soon as you walk in it smells like urine. Thank goodness someone comes to be with her everyday!

My wife, SANDRA PINNEY, had a very pleasant stay at Oakwood Gardens. The staff was cheerful and caring and all her needs were met. The food was delicious, the activities were fun, and the physical therapy invigorating. If she needs care in the future, she will definitely choose Oakwood Gardens again.

I cannot say enough about the excellent care my mother received at Oakwood Gardens. The facility is nice and clean, not fancy, but a friendly environment. The CNAs are absolute angels. So young and peppy and cheerful and loving. They treated Mom like she was their own grandmother. The physical therapists were so gentle and came in to check whether she felt up to therapy, if she didn’t, they came back later. The medication nurses checked often to make sure she was kept comfortable, and just to see how she was doing. They kept us informed as to when she could have her meds, watching her for indications of discomfort when she could no longer talk. They came in quickly when we summoned them. They hand fed her lovingly and chatted with her. When she was dying, they gave us all the time we wanted with her, checking in to make sure we were doing okay. They brought us trays of snacks, fruits, coffee, waters while we waited for her to pass and left us alone as long as we needed to say goodbye. They comforted us and hugged us and told us to call if we needed anything. They made the whole transition a peaceful, loving experience.
I hope they know what a difference they make.

Good staff, good nurses and great CNAs! Don't base your experiences on other people. Sometimes families tend to go against nurses and doctors recommendations. The staff is wonderful and they make an effort to really listen to your family needs and I'm happy with mine. I would come back here.

Do NOT take your family here! Just don't. This place left my grandmother to practically die even though she was there just for rehabilitation. The nurses left a catheter in her for 16 days, which left my grandma with sever Sepsis that went to her brain and nearly killed her and put her back in the hospital for another 3 unnecessary weeks. My grandmother didn't even need a catheter! She was going to the restroom on her own! They also didn't help bathe her which subsequently left my grandmother with the biggest and worst diaper rash I've ever seen. It's so severe, the rash stinks! She even got a rash in her armpit which I have no idea how that's even possible. The place smells of urine when you walk in and no one cares if you check in or out. The nurses are so lazy, they don't care about their patients even if they are in good condition. This place shouldn't even exist!

Its a great place to work. Upon entering everyone is welcoming and always smiling. The team is very patient centered. They try to accommodate patient comfort and preference. The therapy team is in house and has amazing staff who go above and beyond their duty!

The majority of the staff is incompetent and there is no regard for the patient's needs or family's concerns. In many instances the nurses were unable to explain why treatment was changed or needed, they were unable to explain forms that needed to be signed or why a specific situation had occurred. In less than a 5 month period, there have been 2 known instances where staff could not locate oxygen tanks and/or there were no full tanks on site. It took over a week for the staff to notify family that a consent form was needed before the patient could start a new med that was prescribed by their own personal physician in which they were a patient of for more then 25 years. After consent was given by the family (even though the patient is completely coherent and of sound mind), it took another 2 days for the facility's doctor to approve dispersing the meds. The staff restricts the mobility of patience by keeping them refined to a wheelchair or to their bed the majority of the time. There have been instances where roaches were found in patient's rooms or bathrooms. There was a malfunction with the lighting in the bathroom and the patient was wheeled into the room to relieve themselves, the PCA actually put the patient into the dark bathroom and closed the door, leaving them alone in complete darkness. The smell of feces and urineas as you walk through the facility is the worst I've ever smelled. The director has moved patient's to different rooms at his own will without regard to the patient's feelings or any concern for the affect the move will have on the individual. He has done this without notifying the family until they were literally being wheeled out of their room. Note, the new patient was laying in a gurney outside the room waiting ass the patient were being forced out. He will tell you one thing to your face and completely go back on his word. He cannot be trusted and creates a huge sense of animosity between patients, their families and the staff. Disease has spread between patients, including MRSA. After a 10 day stay at Clovis Community Hospital, we we assured that our loved one would have her bed back when she returned. When we retuned, all of the patient's personal belonging has been thrown in a box and not neatly. This was after we were guaranteed that the bed and room would be held. Staff blames a lot of mishaps on protocol but then cannot provide an explanation on the protocol. Protocol also depends the staff on duty as it changes depending on who you talk to. Disappointed with the care this facility provides.

My mother stayed in your facility for about 10 days. It was our first time using a care facility, so we where skeptical. But once we where there all of our fears where gone. All of the staff where kind and showed concern about my mom's care. We would definitely use this facility again if needed.

My grandfather fractured his hip and was placed at Oakwood Gardens care center. I couldnt be more thankful for all of the staff who cared for him and helped him get back to his everyday life! Here's what Grandpa had to say "Gloria Renovato made my stay and recovery a lot easier, she always would come to my room and ask if I needed anything and always accommodated me. I give her a TRIPLE AAA! "

The overall care my mother
Recieved @ this vacility was
Attrotious, She went to rehab
After they put in her pace maker
The nurses were non -attentive
& the care was poor. It was so poor, that they had to go back
To the emergency room @ the
HOSPITAL. & when. She was gone, the hospital staff stole
Her belongings & her brand new
Heart monitor.
