Bakery O'Brien's Boulangerie reviews
16I was out visiting a customer when I noticed this spot and it was busy. I decided to go inside and grab a coffee and try pastry. I had the cinnamon honey latte and a cheese danish. Both were really good. They have a large selection of pastries and they also sell other types of food. The staff is friendly, and the place is small, but cozy.
Really good little cafe! I got the pesto turkey sandwich with fries, and it was very delicious. Fair enough prices too, only wish the seating was better and more comfortable. Other than that I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast or lunch
Found this place on internet so drove over for lunch. The place only has maybe 10 parking spaces and they were all full. You can't park in the street or anywhere else so I left. Ridiculoius. Needless to say I won't bother trying again.
Coffee and pastries were not bad. But pastries were very cold - that is not normal! And the most disappointing thing
was the service here - the place feels cheap like some roadside cafe. Had to go to ask for napkins and utensils. Actually those could be in a self service at least or on the tables (ideally!). Got my coffee in a paper cup instead of normal cup - and the waiter suggested to bring me the cup separately. Did he think that macchiato could be just poured into another cup? So unprofessional. Sad to see that nice french bakery place with some great pastries simply turns into fast food eatery with so unprofessional stuff.
What the heck! Their breakfast crosandwhich sandwich is FIRE! I was completely amazed when the entire meal. The potatoes that came as an included side were perfect as well. It was sandwich was big enough to save half for lunch but so good that I came finished it all in one sitting. Definitely gonna go and get another. And probably another, and.
Favorite place for a coffee and a walnut roll or scone. Little secret.espresso machine and no line. Remember credit card on the left, cash on the right.
I really wanted to like this place but…it just wasn’t it.
The food was average. Tried to order the special latte advertised on their board on the counter and they said they were out. That’s fine.
Two breakfast entrees and two drinks were over $50? ! Also fine but it should be comparable to a dine in restaurant… this isn’t. What’s the tip screen for? We stood at the counter and ordered our food.
You have to find your own table. They bring your food but that’s it.
No check-ins, refills, we had plastic utensils, there’s even a dirty plate drop off so it’s expected you clear your table too.
Maybe they wipe tables after you leave? The two beside me weren’t wiped before more guests sat down.
$50 price needs to have the full service experience as well. Overall, the service model was just a let down.
A hidden gem in the Poway business Park. Plentiful dishes with wonderful flavors. The desert selection is beyond amazing.
Dropping from a 5 star to a 2. They are charging $4 for an ice tea and won't refill with charging more. Terrible customer service.
I really wanted to like this bakery. The employees were great and very friendly. The atmosphere was ok for a business park. Downstairs is nicer than upstairs but no complaints here. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a number of pastries. All in we spent about $60.00 which seemed high for the quality. It's not that anything was bad, just very average.my wife ordered the pistachio croissant because she was told it was fabulous. Apparently there are different ones and ours had large pieces of semi sweet chocolate inside. I didn't mind it, but she did not like it since she is not a fan of semisweet chocolate. Next item was a brownie that was recommended by staff. This was dry and not very good. Lastly was an $8.00 pecan sticky bun. This was just ok but after 2 bites it was tossed in the trash. Just not worth the calories for a sub par desert.
All in all I would give this place a 2.5 star rating if I could, but 3 stars is fair because of the friendly staff.
I worked with Angelo on a special request for my daughter a couple of weeks. My daughter recently moved to San Diego and is working in Poway. To help her celebrate her birthday, I called O'Brien's to have a breakfast bundle and coffee delivered to her. Angelo was so wonderful to work with. He definitely focused on customer service and was able to accommodate a special request for me, in order to make my daughter's birthday special. Everyone at her office loved the food, and my daughter was surprised and appreciated Angelo for personally wishing her a Happy Birthday, from her Mother. I'm looking forward to visiting San Diego soon, and will definitely grab a Danish (or other goodies) from O'Brien's and thank Angelo personally.
I loved the SOUTHERN STYLE FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH. It had so much flavor and the home made fries were fantastic. I think I will skip the cheese next time, just a preference. It had bbq mayo, jalapeño slaw (not too spicy), really good dill pickles.it's my kind of sandwich.
The Orange Chocolate and Cranberry Scones, Danishes, Mango Cheesecake, Lemon Poppyseed Muffin and the Apple Tart were all delicious. The Almond Croissant was good, but I wouldn't repeat the Tiramisu (not much flavor and a bit dry).
I will say that the parking is a bit stressful. It's a tiny, tight little lot. But it always seems to work out. They have nice seating choices inside or out. And the staff is so sweet and helpful and hardworking. I love this place.
WOW! I can't believe that this place was not talked about!
One of the best BLTs I have ever eaten! They even come with homemade potato chips! Definitely worth the price! The Matcha drink was also amazing!
Ooh la la O'Brien's! First timer. This morning my boyfriend discovered this boujee boulangerie via Siri. O'Brien's offers more than just sugar and caffeine.mmhmm! Stuffed With fresh, yummy, in-house made ingredients. We ordered the corned beef burrito cut in half, a sweet cinnamon roll type crispy crust exterior, interior is buttery soft and flaky deliciousness in your mouth. Washed it down with iced lemon grass almond milk and an iced Milky Way. 0830'ish-0900'ish staff was on point, every employee had their roles and stayed in position it was like watching a well oiled machine. Lure your friends and family with their unique mimosas selection. Thank you O'Brien's for making my experience today memorable.
Our experience at this bakery was absolutely delightful. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service we received was nothing short of phenomenal - the staff went above and beyond to ensure our visit was special.
We decided to sample a few items from the menu, and each one exceeded our expectations. The avocado toast was an absolute standout, among the best I've ever had.
The coffee was another highlight of our visit. It's clear that the bakery takes pride in sourcing high-quality ingredients for their beverages.
To top off our experience, we couldn't resist trying the passion fruit coconut puff. This delightful treat was nothing short of heavenly. The delicate balance between the sweet and sour notes was a true testament to the bakery's culinary expertise.
In summary, we can't say enough good things about this bakery. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots, thanks to its exceptional service, delectable offerings, and inviting ambiance. Whether you're looking for a satisfying breakfast or a delightful treat, this bakery has it all. Highly recommended!
Love this place for breakfast and lunch. It's never too busy though there might be a line at lunch time.
A small seating area inside and upstairs and more seating outside. The food is very fresh and the lavender latte is my favorite.
I order through O'Brien's Bakery Wholesale for my Cafe in La Jolla. O'Brien's is a family run business and it's obvious they all really care about their customers & clients. They have gone out of their way for me a handful of times when I had been desperate for an order if I ran out of something sooner than anticipated. Being a new business and still pretty much in the One Year of it all, they have been so helpful to me in ways I did not know I needed. They are always quick to respond and their delivery drivers are always efficient and on time. Not to mention, their bread is so good and our customers love it. 10/10 recommend working with O'Brien's Wholesale.
