OC Ketamine Therapy - Dina Seif, MD, Costa Mesa CA

Our 17 year old son has struggled with depression, anxiety, disordered eating and suicidal ideation for some time, and it became quite serious August 2022. He had been admitted to a residential treatment program in the area in May 2023 after spending time in intensive outpatient therapy, 2 PHP programs, 2 residential programs, and an inpatient program over the past 10 months. He had multiple suicide attempts and self harm in and out of these programs.

He started Ketamine IV’s with Dr. Seif in June 2023. She explained everything to Dad and me and then met with our son individually so he could discuss questions that he had. We feel that these treatments made a significant difference in our son’s treatment. He had the first 6 treatments, as well as two follow up treatments.

Dr. Seif took time with our son before, during and after each treatment and was always there to answer any questions. We were very comfortable through the entire process.

When my son returned home, we live in CO, after discharge from the residential program he had been in, she helped us with finding a provider at home that would be a good fit for our son for any follow up treatments he might need.

Dr. Seif continues to inquire about our son and has ensured the new clinic has all the information needed to make the transition as easy as possible. We value everything that she has done for our son and the care that she continues to show for him.

My 14yr old daughter has struggled with treatment resistant depression for 2 years, despite being on several medications, at 2 different IOPs, a 7 week residential program and countless hours of individual therapy. She has also made 5 suicide attempts over the past 2 years.

She started Ketamine IV’s with Dr Seif in late May 2023. We feel this has been the best decision we’ve made for our daughter’s health and life. She responded very well to the first 6 treatments and this morning she had her first “booster”.

Dr Seif is an amazing woman and doctor. From the very first phone call we knew she was special. She took time with us (and our daughter), answered all of our questions and genuinely seemed to care about our daughter and her challenges. Dr Seif spoke to our daughter like she was a person and included her in all conversations making sure our daughter understood what was happening and that she was comfortable with the process.

Our daughter started at a new residential treatment center (Compass Behavioral Health) at the same time as her Ketamine treatments. The residential program focuses on DBT skills. Learning DBT along with the Ketamine has changed our daughter from wanting to take her life to having a Life Worth Living. We will forever be grateful to Dr Seif for all she has done for us.

Dr. Dina Seif started treating my teenage son for intractable depression in the summer of 2021. Prior to that, I felt like all I did was struggle to survive, even with all of the therapies, treatments, and medications I've taken. Choosing ketamine was a very discerning process, but it seemed safer than some (or all) of the prior meds I've taken.

Turns out, ketamine was the best intervention for me for my CPTSD. Even from the first treatment, I finally felt.normal! I felt like I can finally start living life without the feeling of hypervigilance that comes with CPTSD.

Since my first ketamine infusion session with Dr. Dina, I am able to do the work to move forward with my personal development, as well as advance my career. It's been almost 3 years and I've come a long way. I finally have a healthier with myself and also my loved ones. I still have some more development to do, but I'm glad I'm able to actually it!
