Ocean Fish & Chips, Elk Grove CA

Fish pieces are big. Lots of fries with the order. Would eat here regularly if I lived in the area.

Food was very tasty! Fish was crispy and delicious, fries were perfectly salted. Generous portions of both. Tartar sauce had a nice flavor. Staff were friendly & efficient despite being slammed on a Friday night. Food was served in eco-friendly paper bags & trays, limited plastic.

Trying this place again was so much better than the last time I was there highly recommend

I have been enjoying this restaurant for the past 10 years, and it still has the charm. I am pescatarian so I love getting the mushrooms and prawns. The portion sizes are awesome and the taste is delicious and consistent they never let me down. I'm originally from the bay area have traveled to several COUNTRIES and can say that elk grove is not know for it's fish and chips, so I am so thankful for this location, one of the only ones on elk grove Blvd that is exclusively fish and chips. This restaurant is a core part of old Elk grove and is here to stay! I always treat my family to ocean fish and chips when they come in from the Bay Area! The delicious crispy food will have you coming back for another visit!

This place used to be phenomenal. I grew up on an island and have lived in 7 states. For twenty years, this place had the best fish n chips I'd ever had in my life. The batter was like tempura, light and crisp. The veggies and fish were fresh and high quality.

Unfortunately, the original owners sold a few years ago and the recipe and technique has changed. The facility is not not clean, the batter is different, the fish is oily and the ingredients seem cheaper.

It's okay, but it's like a regular, mediocre fish n chips place now. At least they hired a kid to help facilitate orders, but it's just not the same awesome spot it used to be

Still great after all these years. Light and crispy batter, great tasting fish. Could use a remodel, but still comfortable.

Good service, Mom and Pops type of restaurant. A bit pricey. Small inside, well known in the community with returning customers. Fish and Chips very good!

I like the fish and prawns. During the pandemic, you go inside to order, then they bring your food out to your car when it's ready.

Had the 3 pieces fish & chip plate, which was very crispy & tasty. They serve large portions enough to share. Friendly service & food arrived quickly.

Dine in for dinner. 3 piece fish and chips tasted good and served timely. I'm particular about cleanliness of tables and utensils. They need to clean the tables as they were very sticky. Also paper plates are too thin and need to be thicker. Parking ok, tight.

Very small place, order at the counter, pay up front. If you get a drink and then want a refill it's 25 cents, which goes to a charity. Every thing is deep fried, but like some other places I have been the fish and fries dont taste greasy.big points for that.
The only thing that has really changed is the price but everywhere prices have gone up. Every time they raise (Congress repasenatives trying to buy votes) the minimum wage inflation goes up you would think they would learn, Since 1938 when the 1st minimum wage bill was passed every time they increased the minimum wage inflation also increases you think there might be an be any correlation. I know this isn't the best Forum for this but if you're not making enough money Get a job that you can get merit raises not cost of living.

The fish was really crisp and well-battered.large portions with a lot of food. Since the sweet potato isn't offered by itself, the vegetable basket includes sweet potato, zucchini, and onion rings that weren't specified on the menu. The same batter powers them all. The generic chicken strips are the only thing you should get if you want chicken. For freshly prepared foods like fish and vegetables, go here. There will likely be a delay despite the staff's cheerful demeanor.
