Ocean Villa Inn, San Diego CA

Very outdated. The beds were uncomfortable and I found trash under our bed. This Inn is perfect if you want to bring your dogs to the beach. But, if you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful setting.forget it. There are tons of homeless people everywhere.

Don’t suggest to go there. In a cold weather it was freezing. You can hear loud noise from upstairs. The hygiene is also sub par. TV also not working.

Loved the stay here check in was amazing room was clean. Checkout was uncomfortable could use more friendly attitudes for the price you’ll pay to stay other than that great location for dog lovers.

Decent hotel that could use some updates but giving it a five star review because of the friendly staff and also the budget friendly price.

If you need a dog friendly budget motel this is it. Is it the nicest place ever? No, but for the price and location it’s great. They just put new turf in the dog runs and it’s very nice. The dog wash station was a life saver because our pups loved the beach.

The one downside is since all the floors are tile you hear every movement from the people above you.

Otherwise the staff is friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

I love this place I can’t wait to come back with the dog run out the back door, a dog wash and run around from the dog beach. It is the perfect place for families and pets, excellent dining just a short drive or walk if you’re young.

I will share the good side first, we loved the location everything was a 1 miles far or less than a mile. The place accepts our lovely dogs and is behind the Beach minutes walking. The place seems to be a quiet place not disturbing noise. The bed were comfortable to sleep on, had basic Needs towels, microwave, mini fridge, flat TV. Now the not so good, the hotel Needs an upgrade, the floor are faded, the restroom floor was cracked, the WiFi was not that great, breaking service everything, as a mother I was concerned about the wall mold in the restroom And on the wall heater! The ice machine was not in service and they only had one. The cleaning service was not great they should leave a broom since people go to the beach a lot of sand on the floor & bed. Overall it was an OK stay.

Had good experience staying here. Right next to the beach and amazing views. Pricing is good but quality and cleanliness can be improved.

Good location. Walkable to Newport street. Easy access to dog beach. The bottom floor of the hotel is dog friendly but if you prefer to have some distance from those adorable little furballs the top floor does not allow dogs. But the surrounding area is very dog friendly so you won’t get too far from them. The top floor even though it doesn’t allow dogs you have great beach views. The pool area was nice. The rooms are very clean but on the older side. Overall a good spot for anyone wanting to stay in Ocean Beach with or without a pup.

Great location, right on the beach and dog friendly. The TVs gave us some trouble and could use alittle updating but overall it was a good experience.

For about $130 an unannounced-weekday night, meet SD’s best hotel value. Spotless, cozy, coffee, inspiring—all the right words apply right here. Top-floor rooms have the sweetest view for the money, and their largest suite can be had for less than two bills (!) on a Friday. Very quiet rooms and a free dog wash tucked neatly away. Tip these people, seriously.

Fantastic place when you have a Dog Definitely recommended Rooms are spacious and the beach access is great you can even rince and shampoo your dog this place is great.

So 70's throw back! It was awesome! Everything was great, staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean, on the beach and table and chairs on the balcony! On site laundry a plus. Right at the Gaslight market!

We have been staying here for the last 5 or 6 years now. Love the location to dog beach! Thank you guys for remodeling the bathroom! The shower is super fantastic now, I used to dread showing in the old shower. It was a great surprise to see the wonderful remodel!

SUPER clean. We stayed in a room where families with dogs can stay (it's a pet friendly hotel, some rooms allow dogs and some don't). I was concerned it might smell of dog or have dog hair. It was one of the most immaculately cleaned hotel rooms I've stayed in. It also had a couch that turns into a bed, with bedding stored underneath, and a kitchenette with a pretty large fridge (not full size, but not tiny). They also sell some food and drinks in the lobby.

Basically on the dog beach, but you have to walk around some fences rather than walk off your back patio to the beach, which I had hoped for.

Overall, would definitely stay again.

Dog friendly hotel. I didn't know it when I booked, don't have a dog but really enjoyed a visit from some little cities while sitting in the back patio.
Rooms are clean enough but could use just a little attention to detail. AC filter was clogged with dirt even though it had a red light letting you know the filter needed cleaning. Nothing to really boast about as far as the room goes. The TV worked and is a nice size. The location is everything here. It's on the beach as close as you can be, walking to the lively area is about 1/2 mile at most. Center of it all. The staff is great, friendly and responsive.

4 stars for the pet friendly hotel, the location and staff. The rate reasonable but I wish they'd pay just a little more attention to cleanliness.

Love everything about this place except that the rooms are pretty old and it shows. The beds were to soft, the handle on the slider door was broke. But on the upside, the location is unbeatable, the service was great. We've stayed here many times and will continue to because they are pet friendly, have dog runs to let them potty and a dog washing set up complete with shampoo. Sorry I'm terrible about taking pictures and only have the beautiful Crown of Thorns that is in the walkway to the entrance and the was to the beach.

The customer service was excellent always had a smile every time we went into the desk. The hotel may be dated but this is a hidden little gem that is a minute walk from the beach with an ocean view!
