Very disappointing experience with the broker I dealt with. At the time of sea trials he wound up hopping off of the boat leaving me with the seller and the inspector as we motored around the bay. Very awkward and unexpected. Fortunately the sale did go through. Unfortunately the broker or title company did not inform me that I needed to take the bill of sale to the county recorders office myself and I subsequently received 5 years of back taxes on a boat that I no longer owned due to have moving to a new address and not receiving the notifications. Absolute nightmare of a situation and thousands of dollars owed due to an oversight in Oceanic's handling of the sale. After notifying one of the partners of the company what transpired I was directed to the clause in the contract that states it's the sellers responsibility to pay prorated taxes for the year. Due to a lack of anyone giving me a heads up that the bill of sale needed to go to the county I would up paying a substantial sum even after contesting the fees with the county. This would have been a simple transaction that I happily would have taken care of had I known.

I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you are interested in buying or selling a yacht.
