This was the best surf lesson. EVER. Barry is a great instructor. He broke the process of getting up, down and used every opportunity to teach and provide tips to make it easier! I had the absolutely best time and I'm looking forward to my next lesson to improve on my new found hobby!

I was a total beginner and took a 90-minute 8 am lesson with Cruz. The school was flexible enough to start earlier than their times posted on the web (they advertised starting at 9 am). Cruz was awesome, detailed and attentive, providing encouragement and actionable feedback on balance, wave structure and different styles. The 90 minutes flew by and I would certainly take another lesson with Oceanside Surf School and Cruz again.

It's a great surf school! On vacation in California I wanted to take up surfing, and thanks to Matt and Sal, two passionate teachers, I was able to start on a good basis. Thanks guys and see you soon!

Great time getting lessons with my 2 teenage sons (who were much better than me!). 90 minutes went by fast.

Our group of surfers had an absolutely incredible time learning and riding the waves with Matthew and his outstanding team at Oceanside Surf School! From the moment we arrived, it was evident that their love for surfing and dedication to teaching was second to none.

Our ladies Jiu-Jitsu group was in Oceanside for a few days and decided to give surfing a try! We are SO glad we did! Everyone at Oceanside Surf School was genuinely excited to help out in any way they could.

After getting us suited up, they explained basic terms, parts of the board, and how to pop up and stand on the board. Once in the water, they helped us each catch some waves while keeping things safe and playful.

I really enjoyed the short breath before getting in the water to take it all in. It helped calm our nerves and really feel the moment.

My first time ever stepping on a board on water, and River was such a rad person to learn all of the fundamentals from. Matt made me less nervous and less timid about surfing and just give it a try. These guys here certainly know how to make you feel comfortable and it’s all about having a good time. After my initial lesson I rented one of their boards and proceeded to push for another 3 and half hours. If you are thinking about taking a lesson with them don’t think just do it. They will make you feel right at home.

My family and I have taken several lessons here and could not have asked for a better experience! All staff members are professional and so patient. They answered all of our questions and gave solid advice and instructions. 10/10 recommend!

My son has been wanting to try surfing for years and after being gifted a surf board we decided to find him a professional to teach him (my husband and I wouldn’t have any idea how to). I am so happy we found Oceanside Surf School. Booking was super easy, their prices are reasonable and the instructor (Jake) was very patient and kind. My son loved every minute of his lesson and is so excited for us to set up the next one.

One of the best times I’ve had in my 27 years on this earth was being taught how to surf from these guys i was taught by luke he was amazing caught a few waves first time surfing cuz of him.

I did my first surfing lesson two days ago and it was awesome! The instructors were super helpful and nice. I was standing on the board and catching waves on my first lesson
This surf school was a great choice and I recommend it for everyone.
My grand aunt also took a lesson there and she was also surfing after only 30min or so.

My 11 year old granddaughter had the most amazing experience. Cruz was awesome. I would recommend them every day. She stood 22 times on the board.
He was so patient with her which helped her gain confidence.

Great surf lesson with Oceanside Surf School. I had a private lesson with Matthew, the owner of the school. Matthew really took the time to explain how I could improve my pop-up technique and coached me all along the session in the water. For the first time I had a coach that was not surfing alongside me but really focusing on my surfing. I have learned a great deal with him. I would definitely do it again when I am in Oceanside.

Absolutely, recommend! My son and I came into town from Kansas City for a weekend of golf and thought what the heck let’s give surfing a try to kill time after our round of golf. Wondering experience! Even though it is mid November the water was perfect with the wetsuit they provide. Great communication from the owner Matthew. Our instructor Sal was awesome! I would encourage you to ask for him by name.
