Getting in contact with a financial aid advisor is extremely frustrating as it it done 100% online, via zoom. They hardly take the time to speak to you and I find that my questions are almost never answered:/ Disappointing for a school with high tuition rates and over 35K students

The SDSU financial aid department desperately needs more funding as having communication through Zoom makes it difficult for both sides to communicate effectively. Rude staff. The FAFSA website contradicts some of the info given. Only positive is short wait times to enter the Zoom if you don’t call in August.

Literally horrible all they did was hand me a flyer with a zoom link and then i waited in it for two hours for no one to help me

The financial aid department's performance has been less than satisfactory, and unfortunately, their approach has often left much to be desired. Communication has proven to be a recurring challenge, particularly in terms of promptly notifying students about essential documentation and deadlines. The exclusive reliance on the online help desk as the primary means of contact has resulted in frustratingly lengthy waiting periods for assistance. This situation is disheartening, as the significant financial contributions we, as students, make to the institution should reasonably correlate with a higher standard of service and support.

No way to contact them unless you go through the virtual help desk. But they put you in a waiting room and never answer you on there either. Only Open to go in person from 9-330 right when most people have work.
