Old LA Zoo Picnic Area reviews
4Great place to hike to from the city, interesting place. Nice events like Shakespeare festivals are held in the evening sometimes.
This is a huge recreation park. You can have a picnic with your family and friends, wander around the old zoo along the path. You can also hike along the trails and enjoy the views.
At the entrance starting at the Merry-go-round parking Lot 1 we saw these keys.on the post next to the sign. Hopefully the owner sees them in case they lost the recently.
This is a very nostalgic place to visit. Looking at the empty cages, kind of makes me feel sad when I think of the animals that used to be kept here. But the park on itself is a nice place to walk. Just be aware that people have made of this place (the area where the animals were kept) a trash disposal. It’s extremely filthy, and smells like urine all of the time. Some of the area has been fenced in order to keep people off. But you know how it goes, some people just don’t care and they still manage to get in. The areas where you can walk are nice though. There’s no bathrooms near by, that I know of, or drinking water. The place itself is easily accessible. And a nice place for families with kids to visit.
