Oltre Mare reviews
13Small quaint neighborhood Italian restaurant. Great food and lovely service. It was a treat. We were a party of 8 and called ahead for reservation, I would recommend that due to the size of the restaurant.
Bring your own beer, wine or mixed drinks as they don't have a license. You may also want to bring your own parmesan and red pepper, as getting our server/owner to follow up was difficult as she was running everywhere. Food was above average.
Bring your own wine and enjoy a wonderful meal that will not disappoint! This is the real Italian deal!
Absolutely exquisite, delicious authentic Italian food. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. From pizza to pasta (mushroom pasta, and pasta with clams), and second course, large grilled shrimps. Handmade noodles, great texture. Pizza was just like one we had in Naples, Italy. Tomato sauce is perfect and light. The ingredients used are definitely fresh and flavorful. Service is friendly and cordial. Atmosphere is cozy and casual. Small family operated business - hope quality and service will maintains. Strongly recommend this place.
Fantastic real Italian Restaurant will all Italian servers, host and chef! Best Gnochi I have ever had or seen! Naturally they specialize in seafood dishes.
Small cozy place, the food was delicious. The spaghetti and clams, the pizza, the gnocchi, the ravioli, all delicious
While visiting San Diego for one week, we ate here twice - it’s that good! The gnocchi with butter and Parmesan was so freaking good we got it both times we were there. We also had the pizza - amazing - ravioli, braised beef and risotto (they call it rice), mushroom parpadelle, panna cota - everything was super good. The service from these owners is outstanding - they’ve been in San Diego for about seven years, I think, and make you feel like a regular. They didn’t have their liquor license when we visited (March 2021) so you can bring your own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!
I almost don't want to write this review because I think this place is the best kept secret in the crown point/pb neighborhood; but it would be a shame not to share how wonderful it is. A family run place that is always welcoming and truly about it's delicious food. They don't rush you out and allow you time to sit and visit with your friends and family and make the memories that count.
The food here is insane! Authentic delicious Italian food. Highly recommend the gnocchi and the ravioli with shrimp.
Fantastic food, quaint and authentic atmosphere. The owners are as nice as can be.highly recommended.
This place certainly is a hidden gem. Today was our first time eating here but my wife has already declared it her favorite Italian restaurant.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in San Diego. Can't get more authentic here as the owners moved from Italy less than 10 years ago. The warmth from the owners is amazing. Food is so dang delicious and never disappoints. O and a bonus its BYOB no cooking fee (until they get a wine/beer license!) Which i hope for them is soon!
Jeez louise! If you want incredible Italian food look no further. Yes, it is by reservation only so call before you show up! Also the side of bread is the greatest thing that ever entered my mouth. BYOB!
