Omni San Diego Hotel

We were here for a week, and house keeping only came twice. They only show up after we made formal requests. The next problem was coffee, on day two I ran out of coffee in the our room. I’m on east coast time due to work and I needed coffee. I had to make another request, Omni brought the coffee but no cups. Day three Omni gave us cups late in the afternoon, so I had to buy coffee in hotel lounge area at$5.76. Awesome! Day four was fine. Day five a party move in next door (20 people). After making two complaints, front desk manager informed me that as long as all people are register in they can do anything but tell to keep it down. On the third noise complaint they can be kick out. All I asked for was that they be moved to a different room. Let’s just say I won’t be staying here again at $260.00 a night.

This hotel both delighted me and infuriated me.

Delighted: stayed during the holidays and entered my room to see a greeting card from my family, with a dessert and chilled, sparkling wine. I later learned the hotel would not let my family pay for this despite trying to pay for something more, but the hotel still provided these more-than-minimum items at no charge.

Infuriated: I called in advance to ask if I can send myself two small packages. The first phone rep said they were unsure, and redirected me to someone who assured me yes they can handle this for free. I wouldn't have sent the packages otherwise. But a week later when I checked into the hotel and went to receive the packages, I was told me there was a charge to receive each. When I pointed out the hotel had told me it was free and I showed them the phone record, the hotel staff said that it must have been a new agent who didn't know better, and they had no ability to waive the fee since UPS levies the fee. What an awful lack of accountability, not to mention dishonest given I was told the original call had me referred to the expert in the matter.

Other notes: above-average fitness center. Small studio sized room.

Beautiful, clean rooms with great water view. Great food, professional staff and near lots of other food and shops downtown

Nice hotel with helpful front staff. Great views. Pool area is aesthetic. The baseball memorabilia they have displayed is cool.

One of my favorite hotels to stay at when I’m San Diego. Staff makes you feel at home for such a big place, great beds, awesome bay views, and one of the best fitness centers of any hotel. ️

I spent my birthday weekend in the Gaslamp at the Omni. From check in until check out the service was 5 stars. They were incredible accommodating and kind. Super professional. The housekeeping staff was through and respectful. This was the best experience at a hotel in the Gaslamp. Highly recommend for any occasion!

Came here for our anniversary. Very friendly staff, always greeted us when we walked in or out. Valet gentlemen were very nice. Concierge was very accommodating and gave us some great recommendations. They do have a noise ordinance of 9pm, so no parties after that, lol. Great location, great view of the bay and Coronado Island. Only thing I’d say was uncomfortable were the sheets-very rough, not soft at all. Our room was nice and big and the balcony was perfect.

I stayed at the Omni for a week. The hotel is close to everything in downtown San Diego, it's a safe neighborhood. I was greeted by Chris the valet, he was happy, helpful and always said hello and asked if I needed any help with directions or ideas for the day. Robert, the Concierge was so cool and helpful. He would call and text if he could or couldn't get a dinner reservation. These two people were amazing. The hotel is clean, the pool is clean and comfortable. I would suggest stay there!

We've been coming to this place for our anniversary a couple times now. Will be back again. For what you get, it's an incredible value. Luxury accommodations and treatment, and incredible views. If you're a railfan, you can watch trains come and go all day and night. There is typically 1 heavy rail train at night and it's fun to watch them working to build it in the switchyard and hold up traffic for a half hour. I guess it's also a great place to stay if you like baseball. Some rooms can literally watch the game from, and it has its own entrance to petco park.

Parking is expensive. Park in the garage across the street to save like $35 a night. I just wish there were electric vehicle chargers. The only other thing that is a little odd is the slatted divider between the room and bathroom.

You're also 1 exit away from the Coronado bridge, and 1 block from a ton of restaurants on 5th Street. Staff is very friendly and treats folks like royalty.

There's direct access to the stadium and it's great for events. The views are nice from the right floor.

A fridge and microwave would be nice. They had neither.

I'm a little disappointed that I was told there would be a $100 deposit and that doubled on my bank statement.

Highly recommend if you ever thought about visiting downtown San Diego. The customer service is exceptional, my room has beautiful view of the downtown and you can easily get to anywhere just walking.

We’re looking for some place just for a short weekend getaway on Labor’s day weekend and we found Omni San Diego look interesting to us, So we booked the Executive suite kind bed. We got the room on 20th floor. First thing when you open the door will be the living room, Comfy couch and big screen TV about 50 inch I think. 1 regular small refrigerator and 1 refrigerator that only for keep your beverage cool. There will be a sliding door to separate the bedroom and the living room. Which is perfect for us because my husband and I often get up on the different time and whoever stay up still watching TV in the living room without bother the one sleeping. In the bedroom there is about 40 inch TV, King bed. For the bed we both agreed that it’s quite too soft for us (Personal opinion) but if you like really soft bed, You would like it. We don’t dislike it but it would be better if it’s a lil harder than this. Pillows are quite soft also. The bathroom is big and nice, It has a big shower (our favorite part) and there is a tub with another shower in it also (We didn’t use that). Overall the room is what we expected when we pay $500/night.
The most important part of this review is all of their staffs. Every single one of them are nice, Like super nice. They treat us who dress normal, Wear normal clothes get treat exactly the same way they treat the guys in an expensive suit, Love it. Service mind are 10/10 for Omni. No doubt in my mind, Next time we’re in San Diego we won’t stay anywhere else but here.

Overall, decent experience. From the beginning…
Valet was quick and efficient. Price for overnight parking is $55 and no options to self park. A bit on the pricey side.
Check in was fast and efficient
Rooms had two double beds (instead of queens) which always disappoints. Shower was curtain and tub instead of glass door walk in, another disappointment. Water pressure was fantastic though. A big plus.
Hotel is right next to Padres stadium which was really cool.
You can easily walk to almost anywhere, and gaslamp district is right outside. Also a Starbucks is a 2 min walk.
Overall not a bad stay. Queen size beds would have probably my gotten a 5 star.

My husband and I stayed here last week for a convention. The room was not very and felt stuffy. There was trash and clothing under the bed from the previous guests that the cleaners never bothered to look for. We mentioned something at the front desk and they brushed us off and seemed unbothered. Wouldn’t stay here again

The plus and minus of this place is the location. Great if you want to go to Petco and Gaslamp.but a tad hectic and noisy for my taste.

The Omni is attached to Petco park and Is straight across the street from the convention center, You can visit the USS Midway, access multiple restaurants.

Friendly staff, prices are on higher side. Carpet in room was dirty, bathroom was very dusty and the towel I used still had hairs from someone else. The faucet had lime around the spout area, for the nightly price you would think rooms would be better maintained. They don't have their own parking, only valet and it's like $55.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The lobby is clean and modern. The hallways and rooms are SUPER clean. They have a restaurant and bar but I want able to try them. It's located directly next to Petco Park or the Padres stadium. There are restaurants and bars everywhere in the area. I forgot my deodorant, toothbrush and razors and the hotel gave me complimentary toiletries. I'm definitely coming back! Highly recommended.
