1st time there food was amazing.wait staff was great, and I will definitely be going back!

Place has gone from mediocre to just bad.

Empanadas and Flautas are terrible. Servers seem like they really don't want to be there.

Chips are ok and salsa is watered down. There are much better options out there for Mexican food.

Happy hour menu bam, music videos and sports bam, strong margaritas double bam. I live in Miramesa and will go to Escondido for On The Border.

Chips and guac always tasty. Empanadas are good as well. Great happy hour place.

I wish they offered salsa and tortillas like a real Mexican food place, I think they need that, in addition, the chiles rellenos are served dry, they do not come bathed in their sauce as is traditionally the case with Mexican food, the service is good, the flavor is too just like the environment

Just went this past weekend wanting to start it off with a bang! Yes it was busy but my server Alex made sure I had a blast. He started off with some suggestions of drinks and food. I went with all his suggestions and when I tell you he came through, he definitely made sure my day became a party. Thank you Alex! I’ll be coming back very soon.

We come here a hand full of times a year (whenever we're in the area). Sarah A.is hands down the best bartender we've ever had. They're generally good bartenders, but she's top tier! 12/10.

Don’t order you food to pick up here. Every time I’ve come to pick up they look at you like your a ghost and then they search for it to find the order on their computer then it’s of course not ready. 5 min equals 15 min so they can cook it.

Better than I remember it being. Cost effective with solid drinks. The empanadas were delicious.

This place is pretty good too. Better than your average chain type Mexican food restaurant. The food's really good it's very consistent and they have a lunch time chimichanga for like 10 bucks that just can't be beat

Everything was excellent, my friend and I were delighted, thanks to everyone who works there, we were in the patio, pleasant, quiet, everything, all the food, very tasty.

Probably the most mid-tier Mexican restaurant you can go to. I absolutely don’t agree with their prices, last time we visited I got a tiny grilled chicken breast on a plate with veggies, rice and beans, for $20. Their fajitas were also skimpy and overpriced. Both dishes had almost no flavor.

Can’t eat their chips and salsa because the chips are fried in common oil, so they’re not true gluten free corn chips. I think even fixing that would earn them another star from me.

Update. I went in yesterday and walked out. They have a fruit fly infestation.

I took my mom to this restaurant simply because of the cute cantina appearance on the exterior. It was in a word: inviting. I hoped that the service and food would be as nice and make us want to return again in the future. Oh, and it was.

As soon as we were seated, we were presented with a bowl of chips lightly salted, and our separate bowls of salsa. Or should I say, “Spicy hot salsa? ” Yum! We sat for a bit longer than I preferred before our orders were taken, but once Jesus was aware of our presence and desire to order, he was on it. He made sure that we were completely satisfied and made a few rounds just in case we wanted anything at all. I like that.

The food is 70% of what a review is all about, right? So let’s talk food. It was scrumptious! Absolutely inviting and a pleasant party in my mouth. We ordered the Border Queso Beef Enchiladas. My mom got ground beef that she was in Heaven with. I got shredded beef, and let me tell you, they did not skimp on the filling. I’m attaching a photo to show you just how filled those soft corn tortillas were. We got our money’s worth and will definitely be there again for that plate of wonderful.

We ordered Pineapple Rum Punch drinks. Don’t be fooled by the great flavor and no aftertaste of alcohol. There is rum in there, but such a perfect blend of flavors that you’ll want another. I only had one because I had to drive, but man I wish I could duplicate that at home! I loved it.

In the end, if you visit this cantina bar and grill, you will be like us… you’ll want to return in the very near future. The food was well worth the price and the service was good. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is the limited offering for wheelchair accessible persons. The hostess had to figure out how to best seat us, and placed us at an end table, removing a chair. Had that table already been taken, I’m not too sure where we would have sat. Doing this limited the walkway, but did not block it, so I was okay with it.

Visit this place and tell ‘em’ TC Freebird sent you. It may not get you a discount, but the plate is worth every dollar. I am proof of that. I never finish a plate of food. I get full fast, but I killed that plate! The rice and beans were perfect, which I’ve not been able to say about other cantinas. And the enchiladas? I’m telling you, you’ll scream out loud in joy before you realize what you’ve done. Delish!

This used to be a great place to eat! This time they couldn't find their vegan menu and our wait staff clearly wanted to be anywhere but working. Our waiter would often walk away in the middle of a sentence, and our orders were all horribly wrong-even those without dietary restrictions and no changes did not get what they ordered.
