I had a great experience with Target Optical. I was seen on time. The staff was super friendly and helpful for this first time contact wearer. The Doctor took his time with me and was very knowledgeable. It was a great experience.

Paula and the doctor are amazing. Their customer service can’t be compared anywhere, which is why I returned.

Excellent all round care from the staff and doctor. I will be a return patient. Fees very reasonable.

My negative review is due to the lack of compassion, empathy, and caring the Dr displayed at the moment of the diagnosis. This reality was new to me as I had no idea I had lost sight of my right eye. I appreciate the diagnosis as I go to regular checkups, and as of last year, my eyesight was satisfactory. I believe the doctor who saw me could have been more empathetic towards my situation and offered sympathy at that moment. I explained to her that I was shocked and needed time to process the information. I felt the Dr did not care and was dismissive of how I felt. Please train your doctors to show humanity when patients are given bad news about their health.

My experience at Dr. Lam's office was excellent. I put off going to the optometrist because I dreaded being rushed and upsold on products. I finally booked with Dr. Lam's office due to the convenience of booking at home and being at Target by my house.

The location is immaculate, and friendly helpful staff. Dr. Lam was friendly and took his time to explain everything, was not condescending, showed pictures, and did not upsell lens or glasses. I felt like I was visiting a friend rather than an optometrist.

Definitely recommend and he has a lifetime customer in me.

Dr. Josh Phu Lam is a great doctor of optometry. He is so informative and breaks things down in a way you totally can understand. The staff is in front is alway so sweet and accommodating. They are friendly and professional. I pass so many Target Optical offices to come to the one in Manhattan Beach because of the service and the level of care. They are all truly AMAZING!

Update from today's visit- 9/14/2023: I love going to see my optometrist! He's so thorough and informative. The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional! They all are always so very kind! Worth the drive from Inglewood to Manhattan Beach. It's not too far, but I pass up at least 4 different target locations just to go to this location!

First time getting an eye exam here and it will absolutely be my new go-to! For starters, they took me right at my appointment time with no waiting. They were very thorough yet the exam was very timely which I appreciated.

Very easy to access, very friendly and very informative. Ran on time. I will recommend to everyone.

Dr. Lum is very nice and very thorough. I had to change my prescription and he tried many lenses, asked me questions and fixed it.
The front desk staff are all very kind and helpful as well. I love their services!

I regret this visit, the "manager Freddy" lacks of customer service skills and is very disrespectful.

Dr. Lam is the best optometrist I have ever had. I also went to the new optometrist this time around, Diane, and she is just as amazing. They are both incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable. Dr. Lam always explains what he is doing and why in a way that is completely understandable. Also, Sarah is so friendly and competent. I always have the best experience here.

Dr. Lam is very personable and listened closely to all of my concerns. He has great attention to detail. My eye exam was quick yet very thorough. I especially appreciate that he adjusted the exam for my sensitivity to bright light. I have no complaints.
