Dr Yu Syken and her staff are thorough, efficient, and are always intent on giving me the best care possible.

My sinus surgery experience was outstanding. Never once did I feel any pain. In fact I held a conversation with the doctor some of the time. I was amazed that you don’t feel anything. During the surgery Dr. Yu explains step by step the surgery procedure so there isn’t any surprises. After Dr. Yu completes her job she stays with you to explain what she did. Dr. Yu is a one of a kind surgeon with many years experience, and I want to say that I am so happy I found her.

I’ve had a chronic sinus condition most of my life. My sleep was always interrupted from turning from side to side in order to breathe. Since the surgery my sleep is undisturbed. I no longer have fullness or pressure in my ears and my sinus congestion is completely gone. Thank you Dr. Yu!

Very efficient. I was called after just a few minutes. The doctor was very through and precise in her exam, testing and explanation of test results. She repeatedly informed me of the procedure that will take place to address my health issues.

I was lucky enough to find Dr Yu-Syken through my grandson’s highly recommended pediatric ENT years ago. Dr Yu-Syken is an amazing specialist. After suffering for many years, she quickly diagnosed my issues that other doctors overlooked and resolved them. I was ecstatic with the results and that the procedure ended my life long sinus problems. Through the years she has also treated some bronchial/asthma issues using a combo of both natural and medicinal solutions which have worked amazingly. Recently, she has treated a tricky viral/bacterial sore throat and once again, am impressed with her approach and appreciate the attention she has given to this issue.
Dr Yu-Syken is up up-to-date on the newest treatments, medicinal options, procedures and even natural solutions. She listens intently, takes copious notes and the examinations are thorough before providing treatment options and advice.
I recommend Dr Yu-Syken to my friends as I know they will be in good hands when a specialist is needed. The PA’s, nurses and staff are also attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. I rarely write reviews but if you are looking for a great ENT, you will be pleased with her expertise.

Chronic sinuitis has been a long time issue. Went to Dr. Yu and had the sinuplasty done. Now no more sinus pressure and constant headaches. Dr. Yu did an awesome job. Her staff is very friendly and helpful too. Thank you OCEANN ENT.

Dr. Yu is absolutely the best health provider you will find. Thanks to her, my decades-long tonsil and sinus infections are a distant memory. Dr. Yu provides excellent patient care because she actually cares about her patients and helping them to find a resolution. My situation is the perfect example.

I have been plagued with tonsil stones and chronic tonsil/sinus infections since I was a child. I’ve been to 4 other ENTs prior to meeting Dr. Yu, and none of them felt like they cared to find out what was going on with me. They either didn’t believe my symptoms or tried to schedule invasive surgeries without much investigation as to what was going on. I never felt the same comfort/rapport with them as I did with Dr. Yu.

Finally, in 2018, my sinus and tonsil infections were getting worse, and my wife found Dr. Yu on Yelp. I setup an appointment, and was amazed at how patient Dr. Yu was in listening to my symptoms. Dr. Yu began by prescribing antibiotics and followed it up with several diagnostic studies (CTs, MRIs, etc.). The diagnostic studies revealed numerous positive findings, and I underwent a septoplasty with turbinate reduction in 2018 (to fix a deviated septum), and balloon sinuplasty and tonsillectomy in 2022. My tonsil stones, tonsillitis and sinusitis are now in my rearview, and I can breathe so much better now!

Through it all, Dr. Yu was very patient, kind and attentive. She never gave up on me, despite this long and difficult journey of finding what my issues were. Even following my surgeries, Dr. Yu was available via phone at all times to answer any issues with the recovery. Her staff was just as awesome too: I had utmost confidence that her PAs, John and Stephanie, could provide excellent care in Dr. Yu’s stead; Vanessa and Diana checked up constantly and kept me informed of pre-op instructions and always gave words of comfort and encouragement; and the front desk, Doreen, Jamie and MaryElla, were always welcoming and helpful in appointment reminders. Thank you so much Dr. Yu: I can finally breathe like normal again!

Dr. Yu is awesome! Could not breath through my nose for the longest time, called and they set my appointment right away with no hassle. I was a little nervous going into my procedure, but staff made me feel very welcome and comfortable before, during, and after my nasal polyp removal. I would 10 out of 10 highly recommend this place for any ENT complications you may have, it was 100 percent worth it

Also, the nasal polyp removal was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be, and is pretty much over right after they start!

I’ve been dealing with sinus issues and vertigo and ringing in my ear I went to a few other ENTs and they just gave me steroids and said I had an infection. I never got better. I was referred to Kathy by a life long friend who seen my vertigo in action. After a few appointments and a brain scan witch no other ENT did. She fiend out I had hardly no air way open in my Sinus and also my ears were closed as well. I did the sinus surgery with the balloons. She also put balloons in my ear canal. Best thing I ever did. I can breath and no more vertigo. I was awake for the surgery and was a little nervous. But with all the numbing it wasn’t bad at all. I can’t thank them enough and my friend who referred me. My vertigo and ringing in the ears was the worst and now it’s gone! Thank you Ocean ENT!

My wife had sinus problems for many years and had sinuplasty performed in 2018. She continued to have problems with chronic sinusitis even after sinuplasty. Finally she decided to see a different ENT and saw Dr Kathy-Yu. Dr Yu performed a second sinuplasty procedure because the sinus ducts had re-occluded. Additionally, Dr. Yu found the root cause of her problem, a fungal infection. She’s still being treated for the infection, and now that the root cause is known, she expects to fully recover. She’s had sinus problem for several years and is glad that she found Dr. Yu. My wife highly recommends Dr Kathy-Yu Syken.

I have been struggling with allergies and sinus issues. Living in Orange County with the winds, hotter weather than normal and the pollen has been tough this summer.
