I like that it is a full body workout and plenty of cardio. The instructors are very good at demonstrating weight floor exercises.

Love this gym. The COVID protocols are excellent and you can't beat the instructors. I

Absolutely love the workouts, the equipment, the coaches, and the staff. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the high cost. It's not affordable for everyone.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SISTER STUDIO OF ROSE GARDEN LOCATION. Despite the fact that I’ve been misinformed, and they refuse to give refund of the tracker that hasn't been tracking since just 2 weeks of the purchase, for posting an honest review, they also call a customer a "liar" - that's an unacceptable service and I request IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION OF MY MEMBERSHIP AS I DONT INTEND TO GO TO ANY OF YOUR SISTER STUDIOS ANY LONGER!

Wonderful studio. I called it my “home studio” for about 5 months. Coach Kelsey is fantastic, she really cares and has a great blend of music! Major Props goes out to coach Connor as well for his enthusiasm and motivation! The ladies at the front desk were a pleasure to work with during my time. I recommend this studio if your looking for a great, friendly place to work out, I’ll miss it for sure!

Very mellow coach. Music was not too loud and everyone was warm and friendly and supportive. Thank you Downtown San Jose!

My class at OTF Downtown started at 7: 30am and I showed up exactly at 7: 30am. However, the staff members said that I was late and they gave my spot up to a waitlisted member. I showed them the time and the staff members and I both agreed that it is 7: 30am. However they still gave my spot away saying that I was late, so by their definition class starts at 7: 29am and 7: 30am is considered late. As I left the class, I was thinking that this doesn’t make any sense, I was on time so how come I didn’t get to attend the class… I texted them kindly asking if they can send me the fine print/policy where it says class starts at 7: 29am instead of 7: 30am. They didn’t send me the fine print, but instead an explanation of what they did this morning. Since I didn’t get what I asked for the first time, I asked them again to email me the fine print. Again they emailed me an explanation of what happened in the morning and did not send me a copy of the policy or fine print or the contract. Also, I never had this issue with other OTFs (Communication Hills, Almaden Valley, and Willow Glen), if you arrive on time they let you in, they don’t give your spot away.
I went to a noon class at OTF Rose Garden later that day and the owner (Louie Ruvane) spoke to me and gave me an explanation of the policy. He did not show the policy to me, instead he said it was in my contract. I didn’t have my contract with me but I remember reading it and it doesn’t say what his staff members did to me that morning. He also tried to bully me and turn the situation around and put me at fault! I felt that because he saw a shy asian girl, he could bully me into anything. If my fiance was there, Louie would not talk or treat me the way he did. I was very upset at this point. He tried to say that I was mean to his staff and even accused me for “verbally abusing his staff” and “belittling his staff” and the thing is that with all the conversations I had with his staff they are not mean or rude at all! I went through all my messages with them and it was always nice and pleasant filled with “please” “thank yous! ”. Even the staff’s responses back to me were all nice and pleasant too. All I did that day was ask his staff to provide me with the policy and when they didn’t, I kindly asked them again… How is asking staff members to better articulate policy, considered belittling them? I felt terrible and upset after my interaction with Louie and it made me not want to continue OTF anymore.

Fast forward, I looked through my contract and I found the policy, it states.
“LATE ARRIVAL POLICY:
If you are more than 5-minutes late, you may lose/forfeit your class session to a waitlisted member. You must arrive to class on time to properly warm-up prior to engaging in an Orangetheory Fitness class. There is absolutely no entry into the workout room after 5-minutes from the start of class. ”

I was RIGHT and OTF Downtown made a mistake! I was on time and should have been able to attend the class, my spot SHOULD NOT have been given up to the waitlisted person yet. However, instead of admitting they made a mistake, the owner accused me for breaking the policy.

After my experience, I contacted my home OTF and asked to cancel my membership. I do not need to go to a gym who will treat me like this, there are plenty of other gyms. I also referred 2 other people who are ending their membership with OTF. If you’re an OTF member, don’t go to Downtown or Rose Garden, go to the other studios operated by better owners. If you’re not an OTF member, go find a different gym to join.

Update: After writing a negative review, Louie emailed me personally saying that he does not want me coming to his gyms (OTF Downtown and Rose Garden). He says that if I sign up for his gyms, his staff members will remove me from the class.

At first I blamed the staff for being incompetent, but after hearing about the manager, I realized it's not their fault. Louie Ruvane has no idea how to run a business and treat a customer.

I was looking for a personal trainer when I got to the gym for the first time. A very supportive and welcoming group of gym employees was what I noticed. When she called to ask about membership, my sister even reflected on how helpful the staff was on the phone. The gym might not be huge itself, but the workers make it feel much better than a big gym. To everyone I meet, I highly recommend this gym!

The coaches of this gym were very professional. It was my first time, but I already feel comfortable at this place. The people here were very friendly and they had a nice vibe. I love working out here!

Orangetheory is a fantastic place to get your workout on. The workouts are varied every day. (I go 5 days a week so I definitely see the variety.) The coaches are fantastic. The front staff is very helpful. I've become friends with a lot of people due to working out at OTF. I've also become much stronger and while I will always dislike running, I'm a much better runner.

I have some knee issues and this is the closest I have come to in terms of the cardio I used to have playing soccer. Love the facility and the trainer was amazing. Front desk staff were also very helpful.

Went to OTF for the first time last week and had a great experience! From the moment you walk in, everyone at the front is engaging, friendly and seem super pumped to have you there. Signing up was a breeze (def show up early your 1st time so you get the paperwork out of the way), and I really liked that they explain how to use the equipment before the class begins. Kelsey was super sweet, asked questions to get to know us and our fitness history and explained the class and how it works. She is super knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does. Our instructor that day was Gage, and he was awesome! He was super pumped, friendly and his positive attitude really showed. All in all, I will definitely be going back and am telling everyone I know to give this gym a try!

New to the area, and have never taken an OT class. Was with family members from out of town, and one who is a premier member at OT. Was not greeted when we walked in, and paperwork was shoved in our face without any conversation. Again, our first time to this studio.

I was not able to workout on Saturday as I tried to sign up the day before and could not enroll in the class with success. I called and left a voicemail seeking help - no return call or acknowledgment the morning of the workout, so I was not able to workout. Did not get a welcoming vibe from the staff.

Disappointing experience.

Fun way to workout in group and you feel motivated looking at others. Lil expensive to go everyday but worth it if you need company to workout regularly. Friendly staff and great music
